Will we get a rising star nomination this year?

Surely Tippett is bound to get one at some stage? Griffin was robbed last year when they gave it to Cam Wood who had about 5 possessions and 10 hit-outs.
So do you think we will FINALLY get another nomination this year?

Tippett will get a nomination for sure. He is a gun. There are plenty of guys yet to get one that deserve it though most notable Cyril Rioli.

Tippett has to at some stage surely. Mackay maybe too?
Vince doesn't fit the criteria this year neither does Griffin (I think).
Our guys seem to come along after they miss the age/games cut-off, our last nomination was Brent Reilly I think in 2004. Rutten, Bock and Porplyzia all got going at around age 23 or so.

I reckon Rioli will win the whole thing this year but surely Tippett will be the next Crow to get a nomination.

I think Marty is right but Tippett will become a gun. The Crows have done well in that they haven't had 17, 18 or 19 year olds that have been stars but some of their younger players have developed later. Reaping the rewards now as a lot have slipped under the radar.

The whole problem is there is one award a week. Tippett can be consistently good each week, but if theres a once-off outstanding performance each week by a different player then he'll still miss out.
They should just pick the best 25 in the comp over the whole season and then vote on that.

If any of Adelaide's young players get a nomination or not doesn't worry me, I think the award is over-rated fluff and another sponser for the AFL. If they develop and turn into good players then I'm happy with that.

Seems the Crows have missed out again this week even after David Mackay's great game on the weekend he has been pipped for the Round 7 nomination by Austin Wonaeamirri.

Yes but Aussie is playing for a Melbourne based team - that makes a big difference.

If not for Aussie, Mackay would've won it. Surely.

If Woneamirri is still paying $51 I'm getting on him!
It will be him or Rioli to win it.
Both of them can seriously play.
Bit of black magic always goes a long way.

Can't possibly see how Wonaemirri could get the award before Palmer or even Masten.

Can't really see anyone overtaking either Rioli or Palmer from here ... Kreuzer naturally is one that could well flourish as the season progresses though.

Ignore Masterful Masten are your own peril.
