Some comments recently got me to thinking that its a possibility to create a Crows board.
In the discussion about Patrick Dangerfield someone suggested they should be talking about it on the Bigfooty Crows board and it got me thinking why should be sending traffic their way?
I immediately thought that since the club that gets the most talk about AFL is the Crows that they might warrant their own board on here, it could be a sub board of the AFL forum, like the Photos is in the SANFL and the Regional leagues have it.
The Crows are based in South Australia and we are SA Footy after all.
I didn't think a Power board was warranted since they already have a fantastic site in thepowerfromport.com.au but a few suggested to me that it would like we were playing favs so we could also give a Power board a go if warranted.
Interested in others thoughts, worse comes to worse we could trial it and if it takes anything away from the site we would abandon it.
Best case scenario is that it attracts more people here, getting our sponsors more exposure and possibly would open some people's eyes up to the SANFL that currently don't take a huge interest in it?
Im undecided but most people I've initially asked think its a good idea since the Crows fans don't have their own forum as such and quite a few people don't like Bigfooty because of the lack of moderation there.
I might put up a poll but Im interested in the users thoughts as its your site and you all should have a say in any change.

My first reaction was defensive I have to admit - that you all were all sick of Crows talk on here

But Wedgie you've won me over in the way you have described it and I have to say its a good idea - I have only looked at big footy a few times and I reckon this site is streets ahead

It would certainly attract some users and it would be good to feel free to be Crows obsessed as usually I try to keep a lid on it out of respect for the other supporters that use the AFL board

Hondo, I thought exactly like you, hadn't even considered it, but even though Im a Geelong supporter and there's many supporters of clubs other than Adelaide or Power on here we are SA Footy and SA Footy does have 2 AFL clubs located here. Some mods who are supporters of other clubs have been very receptive to it also.

If we did go ahead with one or both, we would look at the possibility of getting some more mods on board to share the load, but even if we didn't we'd have strict rules and ensure the forum (or both of them) would be moderated by supporters of that club and no trolling would be allowed as they'd be a genuine forum for supporters of that/those clubs to discuss their clubs plights without fear of getting paid out from other supporters.

In fact Hondo, your name has already come up as someone we would consider approaching if it did go ahead as you're a passionate Crows fan and a sensible and good poster to boot.

Now I've just got to work out how I could ban myself from the Power forum if we had one!

the way i was reading wedgies post that they would require other mods and i think the way yourself (posts in RMFL and other country leagues) and hondo would be 2 great choices to moderate these possible new rooms. booney has rooms to moderate already unless they change

Get a board up...hate the bloody Crows, but 99/100 will read the threads just to see what's going on.

Funnily enough I went to the footy then had dinner at my joint Sunday night with the Crows membership manager, and mentioned
SA Footy...(yeah he knows I hate the Crows, but he's a Glenelg man so overlooks that )

He says he looks at it occasionally, but as Big Footy gets the majority (just about all) of the traffic, that's where
he heads for people's opinions etc etc...

Why give a site that lacks class and if full of absolute rubbish a head start, get a Crows thread on here, a few subtle words
to people that want to read them, the word gets passed around, and increased traffic means better sponsorship, means better
SA Footy....

Can't beleive they haven't got a dedicated forum , Carton have two that I go too. Any other AFL teams that don't have
one ?

Port should have one just to ensure equality....

I'm fairly sure every other club apart from the AFC has their own forum. They used to have one called AS THE CROW FLIES or something like that but it appears to be not around anymore.

Just as a side note, i was having a look at a WAFL forum, and its interesting how they structure their website. They list each WAFL club and then have threads within those sub forums

All in all i think i prefer the structure of SA Footy over the WA version though

As with all moderators and the rooms they frequent/use,the forums dedicated to the Crows and Power will be done in an impartial manner.

This all goes out the window when Crow fans discuss the fact they are well above Port on the ladder,of course these threads will be deleted at once.

I challenge either of you to back that up (assuming you are being serious?)

On my rought count the current first page on the AFL Board has 50 threads ... only 10 of those are obviously Crows related, another 5 approx Power related that means 70% of AFL talk is general issues

Spot on Hondo, I did a similar analysis before suggesting it.
From a personally most Crows and or Port talk bores me silly and Id look forward to the AFL forum being more general and evenly spread.
