So what changes do you expect the Crows to make? Surely it's time for Maric? However, I've heard nothing to suggest he's even an option for this week.

Looks like Dangerfield might play which would be awesome. Let's hope Shirley is dropped but with Campbell unlikely to play it seems we'll only make the 1 change.

Maric better play.

I want to see what happens when we leave Tippett in the forward 50/goal square for a lot of the game, it worked in the NAB but hasn't been tested in the real stuff.

Jacky will come in for campbell and Maric will not come in because griff and tippett did well against the hawks and freo only have 1 ruckman

you are correct. I have not heard anything to suggest that Maric will get a gig this week.

Still I would like to see Adelaide with Tippett in the forward lines for a game, he would create a few head-aches, also would release burton from the best defender so that he can do all those freaky things he does.
Read my reply. It is directed at you because you have double standards

Leave Tippett up forward an entire game and he could average 3 goals a game. It's ridiculous that we actually have a match-winning forward and we won't bring in another ruckman to use him properly.

Exactly, can;t see why they wouldn't try that atleast this week. Ruck Maric and Griffen on Sandilands all game, get him tired and stretch the Freo defence, which is average at best. Just have to stop Pavlich. On that, you reckon he wouldn't be thinking about his choice to stay at Freo.... especially the way in which both teams are heading.

It is frustrating isn't it. We have been crying out for a big man up forward for years and years, now we have one and we waste him in the ruck. Leave him up forward and he will just keep on improving, if he's not kicking goals then he will bring his team mates into the game as he won't get outmarked too often. But no he has a job to do in ruck despite Maric playing SANFL.

Most AFL clubs seemed to be less concerned by the tap dominance of ruckmen these days and more by their around the ground ability ... Think it was "On The couch" the other night where they questioned whether the style of the game had passed Sandilands by.

I'm a massive wrap for Griffen, think the boy has a good motor and exceptional skills for a raw young lad and playing against the best now will hold him in good stead for the years to come. (No disrespect to Maric either whom I like)

Both Stevens and Burton are too small for key positions. They will do OK if the midfield is on top and delivering but they won't take enough contested grabs if that is not the case - much like when we had Welsh at FF.

I, too, would ruck Griffin and Maric, and use Tippett at full forward, and be prepared to give Tippett some time on the ball while one of the others spends time at FF to keep the best defender off Burton or Stevens in a pocket. They can all three only get better with experience in both positions.

None of Burton, Goodwin, or Stevens, will kick enough goals if they are on the best defender and the delivery is not top class.

Who does Bock go to now? No Tarrant means a lot less muscle in the Docker forward line. Will he get a lesser player and be able to provide run from the backlines and set the Crows forward pushes up?

has to be L McPharlin - he looks a strong leading, good marking forward option (as well as being their best defender).. I would expect him and Pavlich to camp in the forward 50, with Farmer at their feet = dangerous if they can get it down there...

Anyone know how bad the hamstring injury to Trent Hentchsel is?
From what I hear he was playing well (4 goals in half) before he did it

Don't think it's too bad.

As for the Crows, pretty ordinary performance yesterday.

Hentschel walked past me while I was having a warmup beer before the game and he seemed to be moving alright, no obvious limp so it appears to be minor. It's common for players to pick up minor injuries after coming back from serious injuries like Trent's.
