There's backing a roughie and then there's just throwing your money away.
Backing Melbourne is the latter.
Geelong could play 15 on the field and still win.

Where are these odds? TAB only had $10-
This is one smart bookie offering $34-, people will have a novelty bet like you have and they get a nice little earner....
Edit -
Sportsbet $34-
Centrebet $14-
Sportsbook $13-
TAB $12-
Sportingbet $12-Very Smart Sportsbet, very smart...

It is pretty clever, I know someone who's already chucked $100 on the Dees.

MT - this is AFL, not Globe Derby - they haven't been pulling themselves up for odds..
They are just NFG.... They should be $100/1 and drifting to be honest..

Why are you crazy,if you put serious cash on them then you are just an idiot. If you put down 5 and geelong have a shocker and melbourne have a blinder anything can happen. Hell does any one remember in 1995 when Carlton (many say the team of the century) lost 2 weeks in a row to Sydney and St.Kilda both were cellar dwellers. Also if bangladesh can beat Australia in cricket im sure melbourne would be capable in beating geelong. Long odds but it can happen.

Melbourne WILL NOT beat Geelong.
Even if Geelong have a shocker and Melbourne have a blinder, Geelong will still win by 50+ points.
ANYONE that puts money on Melbourne are wasting their time and money.

Line was opened at +80.5 and punters quickly stepped in and reduced it to +74.5...so punters are backing Melbourne
No doubt Sportsbet are doing it -
1/ to make easy $$$
2/ get more accounts opened

I think that the line is quite reasonable and not bad value for the Dees. Victoria gotta be a chance to get a bit of rain over the next couple of days, although it is forcast for fine over the weekend.
Melbourne will not continue to play collectively THAT bad that they get done by 15 goals every weekend, and there is every chance that this is the game they may get together and have a dip (maybe add a bit of opposition complacency)..if you cant focus to have a shot at the best ie reigning Premiers, then something is wrong.
