TV this year for AFL

Couple of things have me curious -
Are we going to have to put up with both the FTA and FOX showing the same game on a Sat night while another game goes untelevised? Essentially what has happened is when the Crows are a FOX game we get it on FOX and the FTA network (who take FOX's broadcast)....this is sooooooo frustrating....surely the AFL would want their product to be better telecasted? put the other game on Main Event channel at least
Ch 10 are advertising their blockbuster games will be in High Def, why just blockbuster games? why wouldnt you have all games in HD?
Im not even going to mention FNF, lost cause

foxtel were trying to get a deal with ten to try and put the ten game live on fox when crows are port games are fox!!
and with the HI DEF i think you will find that all games are hi def they are just advertising big ones

Mrs Wedgie sussed out the TV guide and something like the first 12 Crows matches are on Foxtel, she's stoked not having to worry about ads between goals but as Dutchy mentions its a farce now because when a Crows home game is shown on Fox its usually shown on FTA leaving one game short here unlike when C9 was in charge and we got all of them.
There's a website when you can watch the Eastern states C10 which sometimes helps this issue though, now Ive got to find it again!

Hope your right on both counts....
Wedgie - would be very happy if you could find that website!
SImple solution would be to give us the game on Main Event like NSW get....

I hope we don't get the aggravating double ups of last year but so far a positive start for TV coverage up here in Qld.
Main Event is showing both of tonight's games back to back live. Even back in Adelaide we had to put up with a half hour delay. I love my Foxtel!

REB

Agreed!
Considering I have lost interest in Cricket, watching EPL over summer has been great!

Issue was when the fox coverage went to fox footy to fox sports
Fox Footy was state specific meaning different states got different games around the TV coverage.
Fox Sports is national meaning same games everywhere which means we get the games around the majority Free to Air (ie Victorian) allocation.
So unless Fox Sports goes state based we will get the double up.

...and when the 17th & 18th teams come into the competition,we'll have
Monday Night Football!
How original.
Fancy stealing an idea from the NRL.
Then again, its better than pinching ideas from any of the American sports.

And where do you think the NRL got the idea from?
Monday Night Football has been a part of US TV for over 35 years now.
Used to be on ABC (US) Network with the game of the week televised nationally, last two seasons it has been a lower calibre game televised on ESPN.

The current arrangement is not all that bad for us in SA that dont have pay TV.
The more Power and Crows game allocated to Foxtel the more "extra" games Ch 7 & Ch 10 usually pick up.
In Melbourne its a 4 / 4 split.
AFL Rd 1 - In SA we saw 5 on FTE
AFL Rd 2 - In SA we will see 6 on FTE.

I'll have to work on my grammatical sarcasm a bit.
