Myself and a couple of other contributors to this site and others are heading over to Melbourne for the Anzac Day weekend (anything to get out of going to Elizabeth).
Wondering if people had any idea how we could get tickets to the big Anzac Day game over there that's always a sell out?

we went a few years ago and it was sold out. On the day we went around to every ticket box at the ground and eventually got tickets from one of the boxes.

Tickets go on sale to Essendon and Collingwood members on Feb 25
Tickets go on sale to the general public on Mar 3
The game has generally sold out a minimum of between 2-3 weeks in advance for the last 10 years, so I'd advise you to get on Ticketmaster on March 3, and you'd be fine to be in the ground. If you leave it much past the opening few weeks of sale, you'll miss out.

Cheers Rog, will do.
Now I just need to talk the AFL into putting the North v Central game on the big screen. ;)

I've been to 2 Anzac Day games - the first a friend in Melbourne booked them for me and got in the Great Southern Stand on the forward flank of the Punt Rd end about 5 rows fromthe fence.

2nd time i booked them online and left it til late and ended up in the nose bleed section of the Northern Stand.

So get online early when they are released to the general public and you shouldn't have too many problems getting tickets in your preferred seating area of the ground.

Myself and 5 mates are going over for the 3 games in Melbourne (CDB) that weekend. Got three rows from the fence for Anzac Day, Ponsford Stand for Crows/Carlton on the 26th and Level 2 at TD for Roos/Sydney on the 27th.

If anyone needs accom, we ALWAYS stay at the Victoria Hotel on Little Collins St. Not the greatest rooms, but awesome location, great bar and fantastic buffet breakfast the next morning. Easy on the $$ too.
