I Listened to the press conference on SEN. It was good to hear from him.

He did not say much but also was not the time to spill everything. It was certainly a start which is all we can ask and hopefully he is on the way up.

Saw the interview on TV, not real sure about it, seemed to cocky for my liking in some aspects but in others he did seem genuine, I guess time will tell all, hopefully he can beat this addiction, experience tells me otherwise unfortunately but miracles do happen

He's about as sorry as Howard IMO. Can't blame Cousins for not wanting to get into the ring with Sonny Bill Williams though, that guy is a monster.

It is going to take a long time for Ben to beat this.

I honestly just think that is Bens persona when you spoke about him being cocky. To me someone who has watched him a lot in the last 12 years, that is how he always his. He even looked a bit nervous yesterday at times which is very rare IMO.

Some of the things he said did not wash with me at all but its a start and i hope he can beat this.

Addicts don't ever speak the truth, even when they think they are.
However, the fact he's making some admissions is a huge step forward.
It takes time to shake off denial. And one day, he'll probably look back on some of the comments in this statement and say "I was kidding myself".

30 years is getting too old for a footy club with very young players averaging 25 (?). Bar Forest and now Bode. Gotta look towards the next 5 years to remain competitive not just buy a premiership then go down hill quickly when players start to retire.

This was one of the best players in the AFL in the last 2 years and you would not have him at Glenelg because of his age. Please. Glenelg would snap him up in a heartbeat if they thought he had no problems and could afford him. Cousins could have easily played for another 4-5 years if he did not do this to himself. Maybe longer.

IF Ben Cousins did not have a drug addiction and he was clean, i would say he would get a game at any club. He is probably the 2nd best player alongside Chris Judd. If my club had the chance to get him and they didn't pick him up, i would be disapointed.

Short term solution, no long term gain IMO, he doesn't seem to be a clubman and at the age of 30 that is what you should be, a leader on and off the field, as I expect newly retired Cows players Bode (Glenelg), Torney (South) will be. As the saying goes club is bigger than one or two players. PS we got rid of Culprit for that reason.
