NAB Cup rules

The AFL has announced the following as the trial rules that will be used in the NAB Cup for 2008
- A no-go zone introduced for centre bounces when the umpire in bouncing the ball
- Max 16 interchanges per team per quarter
- Increase to 8 players on the bench

Also a line across the middle of the ground and automatic play on if you kick backwards in your defensive half.

why would they make it only 16 interchanges but then up the bench to 8.the AFL are stupid

The worst thing about that rule is that they are limiting the interchanges at a time when the temperatures are likely to be very high and at a time when the
players need them most. Bizarre rule.

IMO it is stupid. Why trial something that really has no effect on the game ?
8 players on the bench is excessive, but unlimited changes is not....
64 interchanges per game ? Would be interested to see how many times the bench gets used during
the season proper...
