And if he doesn't then he goes into the pre season draft where Richmond have the first pick. If Richmond select him his only alternative is to sit out of football.

He can price himself out of Richmonds reach

Carlton and Eagles will do a trade, it may take until the last minute, however it will happen

Well if this was the case, he should have nominated two or three clubs, His reasons for wanting to come home were to play football in Victoria with a side with good facilities and a chance to be succesful. Then why choose Carlton instead of Collingwood or Melbourne or Hawthorn?

He may not want WCE to get nothing but he has screwed the club over even if he didnt mean to. By naming Carlton and Carlton only, he has given them the ultimate power unless WCE want to lose him for nothing.

Makes me sick that we are going to lose the best player in the league for Kennedy and 3 or less, maybe just 3 and 20.

Pup, in regard to facilities, there are major redevelopments, backed by the Victorian government being done at Princes Pk. The facilities will be used between Carlton, Melbourne Storm, the Victorian Fencing association :? , and community sports groups. You'd think they'd be OK especially if the Storm are going to use them...

Yeah i was not having a crack at Carlton's facilities just pointing out that Hawthorn, Melbourne are both having re developments also. Collingwood has the best facilities in the state and were one kick from a grand final so his logic seems to be a little flawed.

Yeah but perhaps he can the future clearer at Carlton. With the youngest list in the AFL, and a good bunch of kids, three number one drafts, one number two, perhaps Judd saw the way he could contribute....
For what it's worth, I'd love Judd to be at Carlton BUT if the deal fell through, I would not be too upset. I can just see that happening and WCE get F/A for him & Richmond pick him up.
Carlton gets pick 1 & 3, plus the best player in the PSD after Judd gets collected by Richmond...still a win for the CFC IMO...

No doubt,

If you can get Judd with pick 3/20 and JK or just JK and 3

You already have a bright future with

Fev, Gibbs, Murphy, Stevens, Judd, Kreuzer, Waite, Simpson, Best Player in the PSD.

Pretty good platform there, I think he will be traded to Carlton IMO, there is 0% chance that he will go to the PSD.

Just on a side note, do you see much of a future for Blackwell at the club?

The whole saga is a joke
The draft simply annoys me
Every year I distance myself further away from the AFL

In bygone days Chris would just pick his preferred club .

mal, I agree. If Richmond are willing to cut in on the deal, good luck to them. Judd has to agree on it first though.
The system is a joke, should be...
XXX player wants out, and would like to go to XXX club. XXX club agrees and pays $$$ to
XXX previous club, similar to how soccer transfers work. The $$$ is set by the clubs doing the trades...
This way players aren't included in deals as trade bait, the player who wants the trade is the only one involved.
If a club wants a player bad enough they'll pay the $$$. Unfortunately the AFL is not rich enough to operate like that.
That's my opinion only though...
I also agree with your comment re distancing yourself. I used to LOVE the AFL, but now I take a active interest. This was
the first year in which I didn't travel to Melbourne to watch the Blues in about 10.
Much prefer my Tigers and Adelaide United in off season....

Pup, I like Blacky but he may be a few years away. Very light, and gets pushed off the ball, but has good skills..
May struggle to get a regular spot as he has been a fringe player at best this year...
Carrazzo stepped up, and with Scotland, Murphy, Gibbs, Bentick :? , Stevens & maybe Judd cannot see a spot for him...

According to the listed article Carlton are offering Josh Kennedy who is from W.A, I know little of Kennedy, without trying to malign the lad, considering that he comes from a side that finished well under West Coast, would he get a game in West Coasts side, and at the expense of which West Coast player? If the answer is no, maybe that is why West Coast prefer Richmonds offer of Draft Picks?
