In Qld you don't get to watch Friday night football untill 11.30?
In Qld you don't get to watch the late Sunday match AT ALL?
In Qld you don't get to watch the Brownlow until the early hours of Tuesday morning? That's right folks.. a midnight start...Tests in the West Indies finish earlier!!

If you want to show your precious Rubgy League then that's fine but let 7 and 10 have the rights to AFL so REAL AUSTRALIANS CAN WATCH THE REAL AUSTRALIAN GAME. Stick to Rugby League and that Polo carp your lot seem to be so fond of.

We will all be worse off when the day of paying to watch your team play arrives.I know people who live in a different state to the one their team plays in do this now,however,the day I pay to watch Port play will,well,it wont be the end of me following them but it will sadden me.

REB,maybe packer is still pissed off about the finals rights and wants to get back at 7 and 10 a little bit?

As for Fox Footy...I'm already on Fox, so it doesn't bother me, but yes it is unfair to all those that aren't and those that will never be able to afford it.

I only hope they keep Fox Footy in the basic package, otherwise my subscription may come under serious doubt too.

TiggerBruce. I have VIXEN as well. This means I can watch the Friday night game at 9.30 but I still can't get live Charlie OR see the late Sunday game.

For example, this year I missed Geelong v Kangaroos. We won by 14 goals and I missed it live...had to wait until 8.30pm to see the game on VIXEN.

Must admit I was stoked when the rights went away from C7 and Channel 7 as it meant instead of seeing the Cats live about once every 6 weeks (and not seeing them for 2 or 3 weeks at a time even in a replay format) I got to see them every week.
BUT having said that, as long as Foxtel keep the rights for PayTV Im happy now, having been in Qld recently I can understand REBs frustration and there's no way C9 are going to push AFL in NSW and QLD while they maintain the rights to the NRL.

The NSW market is improving for Sydney fans...the fixturing Sydney get now is excellent as it takes into account the NRL fixtures...with use of SCG v. Telstra Stadium, TV audience and live audience.

As a supporter of a club outside of Sydney or Brisbane when living in either of these states, you're screwed. Buy a budget, the net and Fox.

Swans matches are shown live in Sydney.

Except, of course, when they're played at the SCG or Homebush.

And then there's a half-hour delay.

League is a game made for TV.

I agree with REB about Channel 9's coverage. Mind you Channel 10 is not much better unless you follow the Swans. Take the recent finals series - the Adelaide Crows games were shown as a delayed telecast. When I rang and complained, all I got told was that the Swans games were on TV. When I told them that not everybody in Sydney followed the Swans they did not want to know!! Let us hope that in Sydney we will get better coverage of other games besides the Swans by Channel 10 & 7 (if they get the rights). I am not holding my breath though!!

The game for the people will end up being a sport only to be viewed on pay TV.....!
