Classy Cats

Not am I only just proud of the result today I'm very proud of the way the Geelong Football Club went about their business.

No ridiculous taunting of the opposition about their past records.
No ridiculous taunting of the opposition player's being old school or injured.
No stupid remarks at press conferences followed up with childish giggling.
No bows to the crowd or goose steps to the crowd despite winning by nigh on 20 goals.

The Cats from top to bottom were all class and didn't let themselves be lowered to a level other's presented.

Longest ever lap of honour so they could share it with just about each and every supporter there and all dedicating the win to all the supporters, club and past players.

All class.

It's fantastic to win one finally but to do it with class is something a lot of other club's don't do.
Hopefully other club/s follow the Cats lead when it comes to class as it rubs off on their supporters too.

So proud.

Great also that Tom Harley made the point of putting the plug in for Ford during his speech, while not actually naming Toyota. Fords be with the club for over 80 years, must be some sort of record

Yeah, that was great, and it was fantastic the cheer it got!
I did my little bit by getting a new Ford this year.

Classy Cats - oh yeah, they were sublime.

Port had NOTHING left in their bag of tricks - all the pre match mind games failed,
they even tried the old trick of starting a fight, not even that worked

When they had to rely purely on skills they failed miserably.

With any luck some of the feral fans will be too embarrased to come back over the border.

Yesterday was a very emotional day for me. I watched the game with my family and a few cold beers before pissing off to a party later in the night. All week I had a nagging sense of self doubt..we'd been to the well so many times before. As the talk from Port started, then continued I thought 'hang on, these blokes are worried'. I wonder if the GFC caught a wiff of that as well. As the week went on I started feeling a bit more confident and I've got some beautiful Big Footy bookmarks to get back to.

All week I thought..'now come on REB you aren't going to start blubbering like a baby if the catters win the granny now are you' and I promised myself I wouldn't but when I saw Billy Brownless with a tear in his eye out they came. I can't even remember the last time I cried but I was sitting there in the lounge with tears of joy running down my face. My eleven year old son says 'what's wrong Dad' LOL.

Today we can finally say WE ARE GEELONG, THE GREATEST TEAM OF ALL.

regards,

REB

true class shown during the week, during the match and in the postmatch celebrations. I know it's not a big deal but they showed a lot more respect to the medallion kids after the game that what the eagles did last year.

I think that it was Frank Costa & Brian Cook's influence re:Geelong's conduct during the
week and after the game.

Totally agree- conducted themselves brilliantly during the entire finals series IMO.

As mentioned earlier, giving the kids a handshake and the hats has won them 22 supporters for life!

Well played Geelong.

The Eagles were no worse last year than Sydney, Port and Brisbane the previous years when it came to the kids.

But i did like the touch of giving them all the premiership hats, thought that was a great move by whoever decided to do it

First visit here in ages.

Just to congratulate Geelong on a truly fabulous premiership win. I've never seen anything like it in a Grand Final in all my years of following the game- and having tasted premiership euphoria myself with the Swans after waiting so long, it's something Geelong fans will be able to cherish forever and a day.

Never in my life have I seen a side comprehensively, magnificently eviscarate its opposition on the field in the decider, and to be fair any other outcome would've done no justice at all to Geelong's brilliance throughout 2007.

Congratulations and enjoy!
