Adelaide Crows ruckman John Meesen wants to go home
ADELAIDE'S ruck stocks have taken another hit, with the club confirming that youngster John Meesen wants to return to Victoria.
Meesen, taken with pick No.8 in the 2004 draft, joins lead ruckman Ben Hudson in opting to leave the Crows.
On its website, Adelaide said Meesen, who made his AFL debut late this season, was uncontracted for next season.
Crows football operations manager John Reid said Meesen was keen to investigate his options.
"John's indicated he wants to have a look around," Reid said.
Meesen was drafted from the Geelong Falcons in 2004.
The AFL’s trade period starts on October 8.

Crows are doing well at the moment aren't they....
Griffen's gonna have a big job in front of him next year with Biglands.
Any other ruckmen out there?

Maric and Tippett to back up Griff and Biglands
Let's hope Maric is happy to stay here its getting a bit thin
Consolation for all this is we get draft picks or players and we all agree the list needs some refreshing anyway

Crows to recruit big tall asians (genetically modified) to play ruck. Kinda like the ones in the NBA.

Tippett > Maric > Griffin.
Tippett's got the potential to be a great ruckman. None of this forward talk, he's a ruckman if ever there was one.
PS. Hope I'm proved wrong.

Seems like a problem or two at the Crows, losing ruckman plus other big guys in McGregor and Perrie, could end up with a side of midgets

Maybe they think ruckmen arent useful... do you actually have to have a ruckman at a centre bounce? Just play an extra midfielder...

Perrie's a loss?

Just threw his name in as another tall that the Crows are losing.

i think splinter would do a better job at stoppages than meeson- no loss at all. Should have been delisted anyway

Also sounds like Welshy is on his last chance (dunno how many he's had by the way). I guess the crows will try and use both ruckman in some sort of trade to get Didak....which could spell trouble for the adelaide public. Imagine seeing Welshy and Dids in a seedy club together at 4am. MAYHEM

Griffen would be the only one of the 3 that might get a game at other clubs....not real strong there esp as your No. 1 ruck will be coming off a knee reco late in career and Griffen heading into 2nd year blues territory...

the Pies made the top four without a quality ruck set up
Perrie was always going to go, no great loss,
Meesen has played only two games in 3 years, so I am happy for him to be traded
Kenny, I have been a supporter, however, it seems he has slipped down the pecking order at the AFC, he should look for more opportunities
Huddo, strong year, has wanted to return to Melbourne all year, good luck to him
lets be honest, this big man quartet, are not exactly dominant match winners, this is an opportunity for the club to get greater big man mobility and skill in the side
Tippet is the smokey,
Griffen will get better, no doubt about that
Maric, shows signs, needs to turn these signs in to consistent performances
Woods to Adelaide is a good thing
my concern, both WB and Melb have early pre-season picks, the crows may get notthing in return for Huddo and Meesen

Theres a good chance that they are saving their early picks for a bigger fish or should we say birds

Once again the crows have failed with there development of a young big man that was an early draft pick !!!
How long until Sellar drops of the radar ??? Although I hope this does not happen and I will be more than happy to eat my words !!!

Yeah but if they had a decent ruck set up they'd be in the Grand Final.
