When was the last time the brownlow winner also won the grand final?

I remember something about winning a brownlow being a curse to the GF team?

Adam Goodes last year. Ben Cousins the year before that.

Akermanis won in 2001 and played in the winning GF side but Simon Black was the last to do so in 2002.

2003 - Nathan Buckley
2000 - Shane Woewodin
1997 - Robert Harvey
1989 - Paul Couch

Prior to that, is beyond me.

I was stirring the piss before, these stats mean bugger all come 2:30 Saturday arvo.

Black and Aker both won in 2001/02 and then Brisbane won the flag, Wanganeen in 1993.
