Chris Judd Press Conference

THought this deserved its own thread.

Is holding a press conference at 5:30pm Adelaide time.

Both SEN and ABC have claimed that he has told the Eagles he wants to be traded back to Victoria and to a specific team.

Could be the biggest trade of all time!

He was a massive Melbourne supporter growing up. Id say they might be in the box seat.

Id laugh if it was to announce hes re-signing!

WOW

Judd did not waste any time, it will be Chaos for the next few weeks

I was informed today that Judd was a massive Blues supporter as a kid

Carlton are willing to pay Judd $7.5m for five years, maybe they wont be able to afford to keep Gibbs in a couple of years

Interesting when someone plays their last game for a club but you don't realise it at the time

Qual Final v Port looks like it could have been his last game in an Eagles guernsey

Ditto Kenny McGregor last week v Hawks

As stated on the other thread

The money that has been offered, this is a massive gamble

Melb based clubs are offering between $5m and $7.5m for five years, this is about 15-20% of the clubs salary cap on one player

This is a MASSIVE gamble

It makes it very difficult to build a stong list with depth, how do this clubs then compete with other clubs to retain their young stars and recruit future talent, if the money is correct, Clubs like Carlton will find it difficult to retain players like Waite, Murphy and Gibbs, these polayers will too come out of contract and demand market value.

It would make it extremely difficult to be build a stong list with depth

SD prediction, if Judd goes to a club for these $$$, Judd will not win another Premiership medal under the current salary cap restrictions

it has been definitely confirmed that Judd will return to Melb, however Judd has not yet nominated a club

it is almost getting to the stafge where interstate clubs will not draft melbourne kids, all they seem to do is want to return home

Here's a thought for the trade....
Judd to Collingwood
Didak to Adelaide
McGregor to Bulldogs
Bulldogs midfielder (any from WA?) to West Coast

Throw around an assortment of draft picks to balance it out....could work

the eagles will just re-load

they probably going to end up with two top 10 picks and a quality player

they will still come out of this pretty good, who knows the extent of Judd's grion injury, lets hope a club does not pay 5 million for a bad grion

I can already see that this deal will take until the final day of trade week to get done, this will affect the entire week and potentially block other deals

probably agree

plenty of WA boys have returned in recent years

Health Black, Josh Carr, Headland, Bell, Troy Cook, Stenglien, Chick are just a few

not as many SA boys, Thompson is the obvious, D Jarman and Troy Bond a few years back

Plenty of quality SA boys have been drafted in recent years, Hurn, Waters, Gibbs, Cooney, Ryann Griffen, Rusling, Edwards, it will be interesting to see if these guys get an itch to return home

WCE lose out of this deal even with picks.

Not many WA mids from Dogs to choose from, or even players that will suit their needs.

I would be trying to package a deal that would get WCE an established player and a couple of picks.

I would be very interested in Fevola to be part of the deal but i think WCE will be driving a pretty high price. I would say if it was with Carlton it would be Fev plus pick 3. I think WCE will be looking to be compensated pretty well with this trade.

I just read on afl.com.au, that Judd was a Melbourne supporter as a kid, maybe the Dee's might be in with a chance
