I was hoping West Coast would win, rather face 6000 West Coast fans than 60000 Collingwood fans.

True and the way I looked at it there would be the same amount of teeth there for either scenario!

absolutely, the cats will smash the Pies
last nights game was good as a spectacle due to the closeness of the contest, however the skill level of both sides was very poor, and the approach was very defensive
the Pies v Cats game will be a non contest

How can you say that? We only beat them by 16 points last time and they had a heap of players out! I wish I was confident as some of you blokes.

I feel both Prelims will be decided by virtue of the fact a week off at this time off year is priceless.
Collingwood on the back of a huge crowd behind them Friday night will get close, but the Cats will have more in their legs come the last quarter.

You raise a good point Booney about the week off
There was a lot of talk about how a side ranked 5th to 8th had a huge chance this year
But, as the finals have unfolded, its clear that the current format of the final 8 makes it very hard to make the GF unless you are top 4 - no team ranked 5-8 has made the GF since this current format started and only twice under the old final 8 system (Crows in 98, Blues in 99)
No matter how good the side ranked 5-8 may be - you have to be top 4 to have a decent crack at it
