Chris Judd - to Collingwood?

Benchwarmer, you may be able to add something one way or another to this.

I have just been told by someone in Perth that a very strong rumour is circulating.

He will seek a trade to Collingwood at seasons end.
His girlfriend has secured a job in the media.
He will get a $1m contract with channel 9, plus his footy contract.

If these offers were true, then why would they knock it back?

As I said, it is all rumour and I am posting here for clarity/thoughts.

So many rumours about this guy. Another one i heard was that his g/f had enrolled at a Melb uni, but source of Uni is BF so obviously very small credibility.

I wonder what the Wobbles would have to give up to get him, Didak seems to be an obvious one, but maybe it could be a multi club trade with him back to SA to play with the Crows, apparently his preferred SA club.

I've heard Didak wants to come back to SA and play for the crows also

:(

I'm going to stop having favourite players soon, if that's the case.

1st Tarrant leaves, now rumour that Didak is keen...

I seriously hope he doesn't though.

As for Judd, we'd be crazy not to try.

Good point that one me thinks. Why they played him at the end of the minor round is staggering. If they truly beleive they needed him it shows they don't have much faith in the rest of the midfielders on their list.

Think that Judd's got the bargaining power in this one as well because he's still not under contract and even if West Coast refused to trade him to Collingwood he can go in the pre season draft where Richmond has pick 1, Carlton 2, Melbourne 3, Western Bulldogs 4 and Essendon 5 so he'll end up in Melbourne regardless a la Nick Stevens a few years back.

Trades like that can really open up the trade week and get a lot of other things happenning

They can also torpeodo trade week if the clubs spend all week working on that single monster-trade and then it falls through at the last minute leaving no time to get anything else done

They need to do something about the way the trade period is run if they haven't already

You would think that this rumor may have some merit:

Judd's missus already reads the weather in WA for Seven - maybe Nine has thrown her a gig reading news or as another type of presentor - eg Getaway etc.

Judd would be a ready-made replacement for Buckley, which begs the question - would he be offered the captaincy ahead of someone like James Clement?

Let's see ...

We have the following rumours:

* He has secretly signed for the Eagles long ago.
* He won't play at the Eagles if Cuz plays next year.
* He will try and move to Fremantle (guess which club's supporters started that ... delusional lot!).
* He won't play for most of next year so that he can rest his ailing body and ensure that his career extends beyond 30.
* He is going to Carlton for $1m per year.
* His gf has signed a deal with a Melbourne network so that a club can attribute a share of her (overstated) salary to ensure that he heads back to Victoria (no club named).

To be honest, I reckon he will stay put for at least one more contract. It's not as if the Eagles are struggling, are they? I am sure that West, Richardson, Fevola, Neitz and Lucas would like to be at a club dubbed "perennial finalists"!

It's a belief over here that they are only playing Judd because they are rolling their last dice. The next man in line may be good but Juddy at even two-thirds rat power can promise more than a "full tank" next option. The problem is that he is only about 30% right at the moment.

Even the most ardent Eagle fan will admit that the airfare they bought for Melbourne on GF weekend back in January will be for two non-WA sides.

This week is the sticking point with who progresses.

North will beat Hawthorn and I want the Eagles to beat the Colliwobbles - some say otherwise (better not happen).

Port will beat North and Geelong will beat Eagles (or the Colliwobbles)

A Geelong-Port GF will be the best option as we SHOULD get a 40-goal game with zip, flair, skill and pizazz ... we hope. At least the Swans cannot turn this one into a humdrum 9 goal to 8 affair.

Bring back the 40-goal, one goal margin GF!

Remember '89!

Yeah, with the Cats getting 30 of them.

Of the 3 sides left that can play Geelong the Hawks would not be the worst chance. I'm sure they wouldn't lose by 106 points.

As the other sides are 106 point losers Kangaroos and last-start-winners-over-Geelong Port, that is pretty obvious.

The Hawks are closer to the Kangaroos than they are to Port.

Port only beat Hawthorn by 5 points the week before they beat Geelong.

Realistically the Cats will smash anyone they come up against but Hawthorn would not lose by 106 points. Care to disagree with that?

Judd to Collingwood would be good because we'd get to see more of his missus if they're living in Melbourne. I hate the pies, but there's always an upside.
