So far, the highest scoring season since 2000

This is in terms of scoring shots per match:

2000 55.05
2001 52.50
2002 50.26
2003 50.62
2004 50.11
2005 50.85
2006 51.06
2007 52.81

In terms of points per team per match it is the highest since 2001:

2001 97.30
2002 93.04
2003 94.24
2004 92.79
2005 94.59
2006 92.55
2007 95.65

I think you can attribute the higher scoring to two things - rushed behinds and Carlton.

Matches involving Carlton have averaged 115.41 points per match (or 230.82 for both teams)

Total scoring shots in matches involving Carlton average to 61.50 points per match.

Carlton averaged 98.50 points per match, and conceded 132.32 points per match.

Spelly, whats the comparison of average scoring for the last 3 rounds compared to the rest of the season average? there were some big scores in teh last feew weeks

Avg scores per team per match
Rounds 1-19: 94.66 points
Rounds 20-22: 101.96 points

Avg scoring shots per match
Rounds 1-19: 52.47
Rounds 20-22: 54.96
