AFL Finals Week 1

Heres my guess on the first week, presuming Sydney beat Hawks and Roos beat Bullies -
Friday night
Port v WCE
Sat Arvo
Geelong v Roos
Sat Night
Swans v Collingwood
Sunday
Hawks v Adelaide
They can only play the WCE/Port game on Friday night with all other games involving teams playing today therefore to play Friday night would give them an unacceptable 5 day break...bit of a nightmare for the AFL, if Bullies beat Roos the Hawks and Roos would simply swap positions

I think you might be on the mark Dutchy - with the only exception being the 2 Saturday games..
I'm pretty sure the AFL will give Geelong the longest break possible and play as a Saturday night game at the Doom.. leaving Saturday arvo for MCG Collingwood v Sydney..
Crows are the big winners out of this with a 9 day break v Hawks with a 7 day break and with a couple of key injuries to the Hawks and a report (which should be thrown out for being a "Netball" type incident) will be under the pump against a wound up Crows outfit... should be a great 1st week either way!! AND if games go the way I would want.. Sydney v West Coast in the 2nd week of finals... what a great game that would be...

I would have thought the Crows game would have been at the Dome, Port at AMMI and the other two at the MCG:
Friday night
Port v WCE - AMMI
Sat Arvo
Hawks v Adelaide - Telstra Dome
Sat Night
Swans v Collingwood - MCG
Sunday
Geelong v Roos - MCG

yeah it will be that way but the saturday games may change with the AFL wanting collingwood to play in the traditional saturday afternoon game

Historically, the AFL have played both the elimination finals on a Saturday, so it will be interesting to dsee which game gets the MCG and which game gets the TD
Collingwood does have a stronger follwing then Hawthorn, however in my view more Crow supporters will travel then Sydney supporters

Worked out OK for the Crows given the circumstances of finishing 8th
We play well at the Doom, Hawthorn are out of sorts and we beat them easily earlier in the season

I am very happy that the Crows will face the Hawks
Yes the Hawks have 3 or 4 dangerous players in Hodge, Mitchell and Franklin, however this year they have been smashed by both Sydney and Adelaide.
This gives me great confidence, in my view the Hawks struggle when they are denied time and space, Sydney and Adelaide are probably in the top 3 defensive sides in the league, the Hawks have really struggled against both Adelaide and Sydney this year, actually they have suffered their two biggest losses
Hopefully we might get the TD at night, the Crows have a great record at the TD, not to mention we have won 10 out of 12 night mastches this year
No excuses for this week

Port to win by under 10 points in a very tight match all night.
Crows will win comfortably. 40-60 points. Match will be over at half time.
Sydney to defeat Collingwood by 10-30 points. Collingwood will be in front at half time.
Kangaroos to win by 4 points.

west coast to win relatively comfortably 5 goals
geelong to blow away a persistent Roos outfit just as they did a few weeks back
the Hawks and big bad BUDDY will smash out a team making up the numbers
syd-coll very interesting game - DRAWSKI

I would say your view on the Crows-Hawk is more in hope
on today's perfomance some would suggest that it is the Hawks making up the numbers
