Reckon tex has still done fine in our losses. I would like to see him crash a few more packs but he's just not that type of player.

In terms of on field leadership, Sloane is the one that has gone missing and I never thought I would say that.

It's those around Sloane that aren't doing their job, he needs some protection, he cops a heavy tag and there's no one looking after him to enable him to get into the best position to get the ball.

How do these stats stack up in their losses?

12 poss, 6 marks and 2.0 v Hawks
12 poss, 8 marks and 3.3 v Geel
15 poss, 3 marks and 2.2 v Melb
7 poss, 4 marks and 1.1 v NM

I have had some die hard crow supporters tell me, I want to stress I didn't start the discussion. It was unprompted that walker is a far better option than buddy.

The issue I have with him is when he plays on after taking a mark. All well & good to try & move the ball on quick but its a waste if the guy on the mark smothers him. Don't know how many times it has happened this year but its inexcusable.

One heavy tag, you can excuse it if he didn't "see it coming" and under performs. If it happens a week or two later, you can be a little disappointed in him. If it happens again within a week or two from there you need to point fingers at the coaching staff and his team mates. If one bloke rolls up focused on doing nothing else other than harass Sloane then the team, from the coaches down to his team mates need to dig in and help him out. I don't think they are.

This Sunday Sloane will be tagged by Ed Curnow and I suspect other Carlton players will target Sloane, like they targeted Gazza a couple of weeks ago. When Curnow goes to Sloane, all Crows players need to make a statement early on and get stuck into Curnow, even if it costs them a grand. Will be interesting to see what happens.

They'll bring in a 34 year old for his first game of the year to make a stand. Good long term strategy.

Not sure they can fix it til the off-season, so not sure they have much choice?

Bit of a hiding to nothing situation for the Crows this weekend - "Flat track bullies" and "Its only Carlton" if they win, but if they lose they'll be in the furnace more than any other side most likely. Be interesting to see how they respond. Carlton seem to lift against the higher ranked sides having beaten about 4 of the current top 8 sides.

Havent checked the odds yet but I think Carlton will pants them.
Carlton play the exact type of footy that gives the crows big problems, all out defence, numbers behind the ball, Jenkins and Eddie may as well not play, there will be no goals over the back this week

Going this weekend & took $4.65 Carlton last week, fancy them on Saturday, into $3.55 on the back of Adelaides Hawthorn loss.

All out defence is great but you still need to score to win, Bolton himself admits they haven't got this balance right yet.
