Surely you would have Murphy on one year deals only from now on.

Hurts the 'Pies with a tough run home...

______________________

COLLINGWOOD defender Lynden Dunn will miss the rest of the season after scans confirmed he has ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.

The 31-year-old left the field in the third term of Saturday night's win over Gold Coast at Metricon Stadium after landing awkwardly in a marking contest with Sun Nick Holman.

If he has a traditional knee reconstruction, Dunn, whose contract expires at the end of this year, will likely be sidelined for up to half next year as well.

The negating defender has been an important part of the Magpies' backline this season, with injuries to Darcy Moore and fellow veteran Tyson Goldsack.

Dunn has played every game this season where his leadership and defensive experience have been vital for a young Collingwood backline.

With Moore likely to resume in the VFL this week after a long-term layoff with a hamstring injury, and unavailable for AFL selection, the Magpies may turn to mature-age rookie Brody Mihocek who could be pushed into defence to cover the loss of Dunn.

Dunn joins Daniel Wells (foot) and Goldsack as those Magpies who have been ruled out for the season, with star midfielder Adam Treloar (hamstring) to be sidelined until at least September.
PAFC. Forever.

LOOK OUT, WE'RE COMING!

Seen what happens to Melbourne when a key defender goes down.

Updated - Have completed my 40 man squad for now. Hoff & WHE the closest to the edge

As we are approaching the back-end of the season, starting to think about the AA team. This is what i have so far. Note i have left a few blokes out that are going to be ruled out for a while or for the year that would be in it or would be close. With the bench, i have picked 1 Forward, 1 Defender, 1 Midfieder & a ruckman to keep the balance. Have left Fyfe in there, if he is ruled out for more than 3 will take him out

FB: Laird, Jonas, Lloyd
HB: Simpson, Hurley, Hurn
C: Gaff, Mitchell, Sidebottom
HF: Westhoff, Brown, Caddy
FF: Gray, Hogan, Hoskin-Elliott
R: Gawn, Fyfe, Kennedy
I/C: Sicily, Franklin, Cripps, Grundy

Remainder of the 40 man squad - Crouch, Dangerfield, Riewoldt, Oliver, Talia, Selwood, Ward, Coniglio, Ross, Higgins, Stephenson, Wines, Shaw, Bont, Yeo, Tarrant, Stewart, Cotchin

(INJ) Treloar, Dunn, Macrae, Cameron

Hurley shouldn’t be anywhere near that side. One of the worst seasons of his career

Re Wines, as much as I love him and think he has had a great year hard to argue against Mitchell & Fyfe. Think he has a case to be in front of Cripps & Kennedy, was a toss of the coin between those 3 really. Took Wines out seeing as I had 3 Port guys in there already and didn't want to be biased ;)

In all seriousness, Tex could have a big 2nd half of the year if he has come back right after his mini 'pre-season'. It has probably done him the world of good

I thought he has been pretty good when I have watched. Trust your judgement though as you would obviously watch a lot more closely than me. His numbers do look good, if he is out Talia would come into my side

Reckon Caddy's input has dried up the last month or so & don't think he walks in to the AA line up anymore.

I'd say Rance is our best shot to be named in the team but could easily miss out. Sitting top currently but could easily have no representation in the AA team if it was picked now.

Has a team ever finished top & not had anyone picked?
If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation.

Wines has only kicked 4 goals. Happy for a mid to be on the flank but it has to be a goal kicking mid IMO

Agree with his form dropping off, still think he is in at the moment. Agree with you guys not having anyone in being a possibility this year, such a well rounded team

Has only kicked 10 for the year though. Agree that he is one that can play a fair chunk of time up forward & probably would spend more time up there if Freo were a decent side. Bont has 16. To be honest, it would be tight between him & WHE at the moment.. Bont 22.2 touches ave & 16 goals. WHE, 30 goals & 14.7 touches ave. Went with the natural forward
