Theses things LIFT your team mates around you. Because there isn't a stat for this, you want to gloss over it?
Which lasts all of 15 seconds. Same as a rev up. Not wanting to gloss over it. It's a factor. A player than can win a contested ball or beat up on a opponent has that feather in their cap no doubt.
I just think we put too way too much of a weight on the perceived courageous acts instead of looking at things with a more dispassionate viewpoint.
One of the reasons for this is - there are many types of courage. There are many different measures of it. You cannot always spot it either. Gut running when you probably physically shouldn't is courage. Running onto the ground with a hidden injury is courage. Playing when you're not mentally healthy is courage. Playing in a position your uncomfortable with is courage. Executing a skill when you're nervous or under pressure is courage.
But nah, everyone remembers Johnno Brown took that great mark once. So courageous. But forget the time Warren Tredrea got off his death bed ridden with flu ala Michael Jordan and single handedly destroyed a team in a cut throat final.
See what I mean?
