Think both sides have done well.

Cats= Danger for 1st & 2nd.

Crows= 1st & 2nd when it could of been a 1st.

Win win.

Bombers will take Parish with 4 IMHO.

Suns very keen on Parish

Why are West Coast bitching about the compensation given? They could not find a spot in their best 22 for their vice captain who was out of contract and they want more than a 2nd round pick? Tell them their dreaming Gill :roll:

Not to mention Selwood is at the back end of his career - hardly warrants anything more than a 2nd round pick IMO.

Some would argue at 25 he's at his peak.

Without knowing his age I would of assumed he was 30

Am I right in the thinking the clubs don't know what compensation they get for the restricted free agent until after they refuse to match it?

Should they know beforehand to better judge what they want to do?

St.kilda and Essendon are at road block now with the Carlsie deal. Probably need a third club now.

Definately
We want a first rounder and they are offering a second rounder. They need to trade players/picks to get a first rounder.

I believe it is related to the contract he is offered by Geelong and they should be able to tell from that. A $1m contract first round a $400k contract 2nd round etc.

Is Carlisle out of contract? If so, if he went the PSD route, would anyone be likely to pick him before the Saints get their crack?

Depending on the price he puts on his head there is a big risk he gets picked up in the PSD. Carlton would take him and we may even draft him just to make a statement. Saints not guaranteed to get him

Following trade proposal mentioned this morning, which could see the Carlisle deal done:

Essendon:
Lose- Jake Carlisle
Gain- Pick 9

St. Kilda:
Lose- Pick 5
Gain- Pick 28, Jake Carlisle

Adelaide:
Lose- Picks 9 & 28
Gain- Pick 5

Personally- not a bad deal for all parties concerned, IMO.

I think the Crows lose in that. Basically giving up pick 28 to go 4 spots higher in their first pick. Silly.

Saints lose pick 5, not pick 9

Saints wont have a bar of it.
We have already offered up Carlisle + pick 23 for their pick 5 and it was rejected. Saints want a pick in the middle of first round at worst remaining

Disagree. Giving up pick 28 in what is considered a weak draft, to consolidate 2 x 1st round picks, and giving Adelaide a crack at securing highly rated WAFC lad, Aaron Francis.
