Yep, there was only one worse trophy to win, that was 'Most Attentive At Training' :)

It's a good thing Richmond haven't had clueless vultures hovering over the viability of their ongoing existence across the last 30yrs..

Honestly, while all Port supporters acknowledge the 'us vs them' mentality that exists & respect that footy people either love or hate all that is Port, the willingness of so many people to put a black line through Port Adelaide as an AFL side is just staggering!

Yes, there's gonna be a lot more pain before there is any joy, and yes, this is the worst time to try and rebuild, but seriously, others should look in their own backyards and ask themselves what their own team/s have achieved, say in the last 10yrs - especially the Fruit Tingles supporters - whose team has done ZIP except for choking in big matches since they last raised the cup all those years ago, stretching back into the previous millenium.

It's no coincidence that the likes of West Coast, Port and Brisbane have spent time in the cellar, whereas if you rewind 7-10yrs, they had settled sides and gun midfields. What is does is force fringe players elsewhere to get a go (ie; Guerra, Gilham etc), and when you have multiple retirements across 1-3yrs, it takes stringent planning and recruitment to balance your list. Geelong & Chris Scott are doing a brilliant job of this very process right now, ushering in the likes of Christensen, Menzel & Duncan & have obviously learnt from the likes of the teams I mentioned and the mistakes they've made with their list management.

Everything's really easy in hindsight... ;)

Richmond are the most unsuccessful team on the field for the last three decades but they still draw a crowd and that's why Fitzroy fans don't get excited about their continuing carpness. Port on the other hand don't draw dick while they are down and can't afford to be down as long as the Tiggers.

Andy D doesn't draw a line through Port but don't worry, his head isn't in the sand or anything.....

 :(( this thread has 90% of posts from Port, Essendon, Hawthorn, Geelong supporters. Worry less about us and worry more about the Port 'faithful' (players/supporters) staying around to ensure the club survives and recovers! Vote with your feet, attend games, buy memberships. I have many a port mate who doesnt attend Port games because 'AAMI Stadium is to cold', 'i like to go to town on sat nights', 'we are a rabble on and off the field', 'im waiting till we go to Adelaide oval'. I also have many that do attend every game possible as im sure many of the passionate on here do.

But leave the gun in the holster GH

Pretty sure we made the Grand Final less than 5 yrs ago (gift-wrapped your Handbaggers their first flag in 44yrs too, IIRC...?? :? ). I'm no numeric whiz, but by my calculations, that's considerably less than 30yrs........or 44, for that matter. ;)

Want to check how many people were at Hawthorn v Port on the weekend and Melbourne V West Coast?

27,532 at Hawks V Port
15,709 at Melb V WCE

21,863 at the murder last weekend at Footy Park. ( Port V Coll. )

20,809 for North V Brisbane at the Dome two weeks earlier.

Port crowds are not that bad considering where we are sitting.

Currently Port avge. 22500, Brisbane 24,000 North and Sydney 27,000.
If you want to go quickly, go alone.

If you want to go far, go together.

Boon the Murder as you called it was bumped up considerably by the amount of Pies supporters and Studdleys last game...

You wont get 20k at AAMI this weekend IMO

Did you make a special effort to miss the point or do you just have an innate capacity for doing so? I'm not talking about on field results, I'm talking about bums on seats. Richmond no success still get bums on seats, when Port don't they draw bugger all through the gates. It doesn't matter how much we thrashed you by four years ago that doesn't help you this season, shit it didn't help you then.

As for 44 year premiership droughts at least we've had 44 years. Your club might not be around long enough to rack up 44 years. One day this game will go international so it will be the Port Kiwis. Go you Kiwis. Choice bro!
