You can not be serious on O'Brien and Rutten. Both great players and would make every team in the country.

did you see o'brian again today? very overrated had 5 kicked on him again today happens every week he has the most goals kicked on him for collingwood. There is more to footy than 1 or 2 flashy runs down a wing.

If we're talking good players being rated higher than they should be then Nick Riewoldt's my man .. Has been put on the same pedestal as Carey by many which is an absolute joke IMHO

Yes, very good player, but certainly not in the Carey class I wouldn't think.

Not doubting judd is a star, but people carry on like he is the greatest to ever grace the field. I would still have him in my team but age is starting to hit him, ive noticed his kicking has dropped right off and his tackles dont seem to stick. Fantastic player but give me ablett, swan, watson or murphy anyday

brownlow last year...yeah his dropping off....you put watson and murphy in front of him....judd has a few yards in front of them!!!!!

If you read correctly i said this year. And watson and murphy have had better starts this season. Judd would probably be only 3rd or 4th in carltons club awards at moment. I dont think he is playing as good this year as in previous ones

I posted the same on another thread. The collingwood crowd were wetting their pants with excitement everytime he touched the ball and raving on how good he is. He stands out on his own and gets cheap kicks and he let a rookie in his first season of footy towel him up, he has no accountability. Goldsack is far better cant believe hes not playing. As for the people who said Maxwell surely you are joking, the guy is a fantastic defender.

Stanton. He was absolutely terrible today. Even if he dominates the last term I don't care, his first 3 qtrs were filled with errors both in decision making and execution.

Agreed, this is why stats shouldn't do the talking, he may get 25 a week, but they are awful and pathetic for an AFL standard player !

Harry was horrible and IMO very over rated, one of those players who gets by being on a great team that covers his flaws. I get people will say that he makes that great team, but he is close to the worst player on it. hardly plays for the team, but then again that may be how he is instructed to play, got a toweling today from Crameri

Can't believe some of you geniuses' comments about Judd. Over-rated? He is one of the greatest players ever to have played the game. period... - Should we not shower accolades on him at all??? On some of the ridiculous postings here, we must also think that Lockett, Buckley, Barassi, Bradman are also over-rated. Perhaps the media shouldn't make any positive comments about anyone. Only comment on the crap players and all the mistakes they make. This topic really has brought out the worst in many of you. I think it's called Tall Poppy syndrome...

Fair dinkum get a clue. The OP said who do you reckon is overrated and justify why you think this is so and people have done that. If you want unquestioning adoration of players this clearly isn't the thread to be looking for it.

Really don't understand why Chris Judd keeps popping up in these lists. I reckon most fans would love to have him in their side. The way he breaks the lines, shakes a tag and accelerates away is something I love watching in full flight. The player I enjoy watching the most in football, along with Robbie Gray (when fit) - both pure footballers with a heck of a lot of talent.

Im not a Judd fan either, glad others can see what Ive felt for a while. At Carlton he sticks out cause of their terrible midfield, I wonder how he would go in the Cats midfield? For a start he is a one sided player, ever seen him kick on the left foot? Secondly cant take a mark over his head. His main strength is he can bust packs and break lines and brings other lesser players into the game.

Think what he's saying REB is that Judd is not over-rated. And I have to agree with Ruben. If you need justification, his record speaks for itself. I think that many poor judges (like you) have a different view that your entitled to have, but that doesn't mean you are right and the general footballing public, including the media are wrong.

Probably as well as he did in the West Coast midfield when they were at their peak, I would say. Not sure how much more he has to achieve at two clubs before a percentage of fans acknowledge his impact on a match over a sustained period I reckon any player who can win a Brownlow at a great club at their best, and at a club that wasn't anywhere near the best in the league, with a second medal, might be doing something right.

Fair point, but in this case, it's not the sole indicator. His standard hasn't dropped, no matter whether he has been in a gun team or a struggling (until this year) one. It's why I'm watching Gary Ablett Jnr's first couple of years at Gold Coast with great interest. By the end of next year, we may all know more about his place in the overall scheme of ratings.

Kick the ball better, and defend better. The amount of times I've seen players like Jared McVeigh tag Judd and kick 2-4 goals on him is amazing. He still polls votes because he is amazing at winning the ball, but he is, like Murphy at Carlton, unlikely to ever work backwards and help the defence
