The whole thing has been a mess, but then again, thats par for the course this year.

Doesnt change how good of a player he has been though.

Spot on. A very good player, Champion gets used too much and I am not 100% he was/is a champion.

30th on the ALL-TIME games played in the VFL/AFL and two premierships.
I'd say a champion.

They're all forwards.
Champion forwards.
There's other players on the field that allow these kind of players to achieve their goals.
Too quickly we forget the Tyson Edwards type of players, not flashy or kicks a bag, but ultra-consistent, rarely beaten one-on-one and disciplined.
I'm not saying Edwards is better than the above mentioned players, but should be afforded the same respect.

Well done Tyson Edwards on a great career. A tough, hard, honest footballer that certainly worked hard and got the rewards. Deserves a farewell game.

The way the whole thing has been handled it very disappointing.

I don't want to go OTT but a part of me thinks Tyson handled this about as bad as possible, was a bit of a sook.

Now in saying that, he's been a champion and have enjoyed watching him play for many years.

about as insightful enough as the rest of your comments on this thread!

and whats with the red dress? WTF, huh?

Now you're having a cry as well. No wonder you needed it explained to you. If it was good enough for Terry Daniher and Simon Madden to play out the year in the Magoos (IIRC they might have gotten that 'farewell' game in the end) why isn't it good enough for Edwards? The Crows didn't say they weren't going to give him that farewell match either, just that they couldn't promise him one. His reaction is most revealing and most definately a dummy spit in my book.

REB

he said tonight he was happy to leave after being dropped and had fully accepted his position (obviously not 100% happy first time dropped in 16 year. he said it would be best for the young guys and the team to retire immediately. then they rang and he agreed to the freo match.
not quite crying mate, just reckon he deserves better from arm chair experts such as yourself. but really who cares what REB's book says!? however i agree, this situation is what make forums good.

My anti-Crow bias ( and dont think it doesn't run the other way ) dictates that my point of view does not come across with the sensibility and reason that NFC puts across here. To those Adelaide fans I upset today this,as NFC put it, is the stance I take but I have Port Adelaide running in my viens and if you think you would be more understanding if the shoe was on the other foot just take another look...

Well said NFC well said.

To change the subject matter just a little and this is not a stir, what do the Adelaide fans think of Craigs manner in the Press Conference today? Must admit I have seen very little of it but I want to see the reaction of those who care most.

I always had a bit of time for Edwards but that went out the window!!!

The guy should have swallowed his pride, played for westies and proved the critics wrong....thats what a real man would do. Get on with the job.

Totally self indulgent to me.
Is out of change.....thanks Cambridge Clarrie!!!

Well as a crows supporter this dosnt sit well with me either and smacks of arrogance from Edwards not knocking the guy for what he has done for the club but i have always been of the thought that the club is always bigger than the player . Craigys presso was a sham from his persona he was seething inside and looked pissed that he had to relent on HIS decision which obviously counted for zilch when push came to shove over the farewell game
Congrats on a great career Tyson but i will n ow always remember that dummy spit when your name is mentioned in the future , and that is not how you should be remembered .

Poorly handled this one by the AFC, no doubt Craig was dirty that Edwards went against one of his conditions of playing on that there would be no mid season retirements. So I can sort of understand his stance. However probably more disappointed with Edwards not toughing it out in the SANFL and setting a good example to the kids at the club that you can work thru form slumps and not just give up.

Dont have a problem with a farewell game especially when a team is struggling, but not accept being dropped and playing for Westies was poor.I have more time now for Brett Burton who will continue to play either at the Eagles or Crows.

OMG.

Its time the crows started getting rid of anyone that is over 28.

It should be a team/club rule. :D

There is no place for over 28's in AFL.... :D

It is a game for the "Brain" young.

Over 28 is too old for AFL.

or you will end up like the Crows.

2nd Bottom, maybe bottom. in 2010.
Smile :)

It's only Money $$$ :)

What is happening to our SANFL guys...
