My comment was not about excuses, it was about fortune and I would suggest that fortune is smiling on the Dockers this year when last year they got bugger all luck. Geelong should have won on the weekend - no excuses made or given by the club and rightly so.

No doubt Geelong should have won, and would of with Ottens, Scarlett and Mooney. But to include Essendon in that list is reaching.

I agree that they have fortune smiling on them this year but at the same time they are copping injuries aswell. Last week they lost their key defender in Tarrant (most spoils in the comp last year before anyone jumps on that) and Garrick Ibbotson, a sensation on the wing who is only in his 3rd season.
This week they've lost Suban for a while who is an out and out gun.

Good point Voice. Tarrant is a big loss as he has rejuvenated his career as a key defender.

They're tipping round 5. He's been slowly building up in the WAFL.

While they lost today, to be pushing the Saints as well as they did, away from home was full of merit. Surely, SURELY, this isn't finally the day that Dockers fans have been waiting for all these years - when they are seen as reasonable chances against many opposition teams at home or away?

Were far from disgraced on the weekend.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

I've gotta say, I'm really enjoying the rise of Freo. It's great for the game.

Fremantle had another kid debut the other night who looked pretty good. Dylan Roberton. He was very composed when he had the ball and made good decisions with it.
Also his disposal was spot on every time. They've been smart with their picks and got some real footy brains into the team.

The thing that is frustrating me is that a couple of these young blokes that have been doing the job for us have to go back on the rookie list when players like Thornton and Grover are fit. Those two had better play bloody well and justify their position.

Cant see players like Headland and Schammer having much of a future at the club, they've been passed by.

They already dropped Pearce and Van Berlo back to the rookie list for Thornton and Ruffles. Ruffles has lots of potential and is young but Thornton is a hack. It's a pity because Pearce and Van Berlo were doing really well but thems the rules I guess. What frustrated me was some of your supporters that didn't understand that it wasn't the choice of the match commitee to do that, it was a matter of having to.
Who do you reckon they'll drop back when Grover comes off the LTI, Andrew Fyfe? He's still pretty raw and skinny. He's been doing very well though considering his size.
Some pretty hard decisions to be made for Freo.
You would have to say Thorton and Bradley are looking at being de-listed at the end of this season.
Another question for you Barto. Is Zac Clarke injured or can't he break his way into the side because Johnson is doing so well as second ruck?

Zac Clarke cant break his way in for that exact reason. Still developing.

I don't think the club expected these younger players to go so well this early, probably would have delisted a couple of others for them.

Andrew Fyfe was the cartoonist for Hey Hey. Nat Fyfe is a senior listed player as he was drafted in November. ;)

I think Silvagni will be the one kept. Although Headland now has to have knee surgery so we may not have to make a decision.

Two 6-day breaks in a row and a long flight home. They'll have to pull out something very special to knock off a red-hot Collingwood team.

Who would've thought Collingwood v Freo would be a 'top of the table' clash at the start of the year. Great to see though.
