They have every reason to feel harshly done by in that game.

Exactly, especially the dodgy deliberate out of bounds decision near the end.

Didnt have a problem with that one, but the inconsistencies (particularly with the HTB calls or lack thereof) were abominable and the gifted goal Riewoldt received at the start of the 3rd quarter was beyond a joke.

Well done to the Saints, that game should hold them in good stead for next weekend, but I hope they lose because I don't think they conclusively deserved to win tonight.

Western Bulldogs had their chances CP. Giansiracusa especially, could and should have done better in the final 3 minutes. You can always look back at many decisions and feel hardly done by but i think St Kilda are deserved winners. If only the bullies had a focal point in attack..!!

Im aware of all that mate, I've followed the game for long enough ... I've never used decisions as an excuse or reason for loss, and Im not necessarily saying that now either, what I am saying is that as an impartial viewer, I really feel tonights game was significantly influenced.

Good teams win regardless, but imho it certainly made life difficult for the Dogs.

Well said CP as a one eyed Sainter, even I felt that we should have been pinged HTB more than a few times and then we were pinged when it clearly was not. And the Umps certainly put the whistle away in the last 5 mins.

Ah well onwards and upwards

Whose coming to melbourne?

The umps were quite lenient with the HTB rule all night, which I didn't mind. Made a nice change to the second half of the season, where 'prior opportunity' seemed to consist of nothing more than grabbing the footy and lifting your eyes.

Ugly armwrestle, but as they say in cricket "it's not how, it's how many".

The skipper and Hayes the standouts for StK.

Agreed and I was supporting the saints.Couldnt believe the Ward holding the ball decision by the boundary. But cant remember to many others being paid. Can Saints have those umps everyweek.

Other than the HTB's also thought there was a free from a boundary throw in paid to Gardiner early in the last quarter - that was there - but when Gardiner did the exact same thing twice in the next 5 minutes it was 'play on' and also though Aker was a bit hard done by with that deliberate out of bounds when once again Riewoldt actually carried the ball over with no penalty afterwards.

Before the ball went forward for Reiwoldt to soccer that last goal, there was a boundary throw-in on centre wing, MCC side, arm right over Hudson's shoulder from behind, play-on. Unbelievable.

Thought Akers deliberate was consistent with what they have generally paid over the last couple of years, but just goes to show how those that run the game have helped f*ck it up and how little feel for the game the umpires actually have. Three kicks, and St Kilda have another goal

Another example of this was right before 3/4 time, OOF free to Murphy, run in straight on his mark, stopped, called play-on, scrubber kick under pressure, Milne kicks goal righto on siren.

Plus the Reiwoldt one at the start of the 3rd.

And the HTB against Ball (?) 25mt in front of dogs goal.

Hayes was superb!
Saint Nick was good, but what the hell is wrong with his Knee?
Hes not right, seems to be playing on pain killers, but still kick 4 goals in a match defining performance. So heck not a bad effort. But there were a few times when it looked like he couldnt jump, still just makes his performace all the more remarkable really.

That was a crap decision and cost the Bulldogs in a sense. Why because the dogs put their tails down and nose dived after that.

The weather could be a real evener here now, thought the Cats speed would be a real factor tonight but in wet conditions, some older Geelong leg speed if it's close at 3/4 time could be a factor
