Broughton, who played last night for Freo, is an absolute bargain @ $84K. Should get games and I have him as last pick for my defenders.

And that's all I'm giving away, aren't we meant to be competing against each other ;) :D

They've got about 19 young defenders. I'll pass on that one I reckon Q Man.

True REB, but I reckon he'll be among the first few to debut and there aren't too many others under $85K who'll get a game before him. Stephen Hill is probably a better pick, but twice the cost. I guess what I'm saying is if you're down to your last pennies, it's a decent pick.

FWIW, I've changed my team 478 times and I'll probably change it another 478 times ;) :D

All spots in all leagues are full but I don't have access to Division III anymore so if any info needs to be updated let me know. I also need a 'writer' for Division III once the season starts. You don't need to write essays, just let me know who is in the top four and thus in the running for promotion to Division II.

Now, on to the 448th version of my side......

Thanks to researching forums on FanFooty I feel I am getting a handle on the best approach as I modify my team for the 333rd time

My last go at Fantasy Footy was a manual system in The Australian 10 years ago  It was a lot different to SC.

One question - if your players increase in value during the season does that effectively increase your salary cap during the season? ie, can you them trade for players of equal value to what you have even if it puts you over $10m?

I read that improving $ value of your players over the season is important but can't seem to find out exactly why (possible first timer stupid question).

Yeah mate.

For example if you pick up Daniel Rich for 140k and he then performs really well and by round 10 he is worth 400k then you can trade him for someone off equal value. Thats why it is important to get a couple of promising younger blokes IMO.

There is a few cheap bargains in the forward line IMO.

Again on the Rich scenario, you can 'trade down' for another young midfielder who has a slower start to the year (think Mackay last season0 and use that cash to upgrade another area of your side. Your side is allowed to be worth more than 10 million, but you can't spend more than 10 million. This game is a bit like playing the stock exchange..buy low sell high. You also need to work out how good your side needs to be come August (finals time). This can be achieved by selecting your 'keepers' now with ideally the rest of your squad being 'cash cows'.

Mine is looking great. Haven't had time to log in other than to join the league. Is the cut off period sometime just before round 1? Will I lose anything other than research time if I leave it late to pick my side?

Just before Round 1 commences.

You wont lose anything, but just remember you have unlimited trades before the lock out so you can tinker as much as you like. Once round 1 kicks off though the 20 trades come into play.

Don't leave it to the last minute smaccer as every other bugger will be hitting the server(s) at the same time. Last year teams fell over and donuts popped up everywhere. They've increased their capacity this season but better off doing some research the weekend before the season proper kicks off and put your final line up in then. Wednesay night at the very latest. I'm not going anywhere near SuperCoach on Thursday bugger that for a joke.
