Using that logic, why not just give the premiership cup to the minor premier then?

Good idea.

I believe that Craig and the Crows won't be prepared to make the hard decisions regarding the playing list and it is difficult to envisage where the improvement might come from. The same goes for Sydney. Roos has already come out and said that the blokes who have the runs on the board will get first crack, translation: No massive list upheavals and once again the young players will not be given a run. My inclusion of the Hawks might surprise some people but I reckon Hawthorn might be a bit too pleased with it's efforts this year and might actually go backwards next season. I know Geelong did this. I believe Buddy Franklin will be tested by a series of quicker opponents next year and Boyle and Roughead are not the gun forwards they are being made out to be.

You know what you are going to get with the Roos and usually that means 100% effort. They don't normally come out and get belted by 17 goals. Plenty of people have gone on about 0-3 but have a look at what they have done since then. I believe all of the teams that have made the Prelims have been sold short in this thread as The Roos and Port have been very consistent and Collingwood have done a great job considering so many experienced men have missed quite a bit of football. Next year the Roos will welcome back Nathan Thompson and also the much improved Corey Jones was also missing yesterday. I think you're barking up the wrong tree here NFC.

REB

Yep every one of Roos’ comments point to the fact that he’ll start the same old 22 in round 1 next year and unless they are bombing out at the halfway point of the year they won’t play the youngsters. Do they have any youngsters anyway? I’m not having a crack, just seems like they’ve traded all their early picks recently for Richards, Everitt, Jolly ect. They definitely could be in strife next year but I think they have enough quality on their list to make the 8.

The Hawks will finish about 6th next season and I think you’re underestimating Boyle and Roughead. Boyle was playing great footy up until his hamstring injury which pretty much ruined his season. At 20, Roughead is one of the best contested marks in the business. Once he improves his fitness and adds a bit more muscle to the body, he could be elite. Keep in mind they still have young guns like Ellis, Thorp, Dowler, Tuck, Muston ect who will add improvement to their team. I can’t see them sliding too much but they could do a Western Bulldogs but I think everyone realises they have no KPP’s and are one trick pony’s.

The worst PF side ... easy ... I remember it well

1984 (Jack Cahill's last game as Collingwood coach)

Essendon 28. 6 174
Colliwobbles 5.11 41

133 reasons to laugh!!!

Collingwood's full-back Rotten Ronnie Andrews kicked three of their five from memory!

Still makes me laugh to this day!

Quite simple- the 4 best sides are playing in the Prelim Finals.

Collingwood won an away final in Perth.
The Roos bounced back from a thrashing.
What more do these sides have to do?

To be fair on the Roos, this year there has only been one stand out who has played an
exciting, consistent brand of footy. North might have just been in the wrong place at the
wrong time.

What, a penalty shoot-out after a nil-all draw and extra time?

Only for League championships, NOT the fiasco called the World Cup..
The person who proposed the shoot-out should be shot..
