Also rumours that Jobe Watson could be offered, would WCE be interested in Watson...

Yeah they look in a good position with those WA players that i mentioned. I dont think WCE will be interested in Ryder but they will be very interested in Gumby.

I cant see WCE being to interested in Jobe, His disposal is pretty ordinary and he isnt overly quick, but saying that he is great in the clearances. But WCE already have Kerr, Priddis, Steinglein and the likes who are good in tight. If they were looking for a mid it would need to be someone like Jetta who can devolp in the forward line but also has great pace and can break the lines and be damaging in the midfield in later years.

I think Leroy Jetta is from WA as well, so it could be him, and every other WA bred player amongst the Bombers ranks hes referring to.

Which Are:

Scott Gumbleton
Courtney Johns
Paddy Ryder
Kyle Reimers
Leroy Jetta
Kepler Bradley

Red- The only ones WCE would have any interest in IMO and Ryder lucky to be included in that

Blue- Personal Interest, think WCE and Freo would like to give him a chance (Not part of Judd deal)

Ryder is a quality young player, a possible long term CHB for the Eagles, thereby allowing Hunter to go forward. I think Ryder would certainly be someone the Eagles could be interested in.

I put him down as one the Eagles would be interested in.

I am not sure about him though, i know he is only a kid still and has a heap of development to go but i dont see him becoming a CHB, i see him becoming more of a floater, a third tall but i guess time will tell. No doubt he has talent. They will rather Gumbleton though.

I wouldnt be interested in playing Hunter as a forward week in week out, he is a good pinch hitter but cant see becoming a regular fixture up there.

Paul Roos spin on the Judd trade

Regardless of who ends up winning the services of the 2004 Brownlow medallist, one thing Roos is certain of is that negotiations will be protracted.

“I think what Carlton will try and do is give pick three and a player, but what West Coast will want is pick one and pick three,” he said.

“It’s going to be a game of cat and mouse and will probably hold up a lot of other deals throughout the week, which will be frustrating for everyone.”

I know they obviously start working on the deal now but why leave the official trade period as 1 week and expect all these deals to be done? It's just asking for the outcome Paul Roos is predicting.

I'm a broken record on this issue - the current trading system needs an overhaul IMO

Maybe an initial 3 days, a break, maybe the recruiters can chat informally for a couple of days, and then get them all together for another couple of days to finish it all off. Who knows, probably wouldn't work but the current system is very poor anyway.

I think the only way to do it is make it shorter.

5 days, the clubs throw absurd trades around for three days knowing they wont get done then when it gets to the last half a day, its all rushing around looking for the fax machine. It needs to be much shorter.

2 days Maximum IMO, Tell other clubs what you want and what your willing to deal honestly and if it cant be worked so be it.
This must be the worst week of the year for most players, its like a meat market.

great comment from Leigh

AFL legend Leigh Matthews has questioned the Chris Judd Melbourne roadshow, describing it as "mildly distasteful" watching an individual interviewing clubs rather than the other way around.

I've been reliably told (by someone with a fair few AFL contacts) that if Judd doesn't get the club he wants, he will be happy to sit out next season, knowing that the public won't stand for him being missing from the game.....

& why shouldn't Judd do it in his terms?

I suspect Judd is reaching the point where injuries will increasingly curtail his match availability and performance, so I would not recommend any club give away a lot for him. He'll probably still be good next year, but then....?

now Collingwood are gone, it will be interesting to see how the Judd situation plays out this week

I am struggling to understand Judd's criteria

His manager said it is not about money, playing finals and the realistic chance of winning a premiership are the keys

well Judd has narrowed the Clubs to Collingwood, Essendon, Carlton and Melbourne, and refused to talk to Hawthorn, St Kilda, Kanga's and WB

last time I checked the ladder Essendon, Carlton and Melbourne were shite, while Hawthorn, St Kilda, Kanga's and WB all had reasonable lists to build from

Hawthorn are privately pissed off, Judd has claimed that the Hawks have a culture issue, well what about Collingwood, out of all the Melbourne based clubs, the Pies have had plenty of serial offenders finding off field trouble

SD view, the last few days this has turned in to a bit of a circus, I believe Judd's management team could of handled this a bit better
