Nor the week before - very Neil Craig-esque...

I was thinking chris scott-esque....lets keep it modern. Crows fand would have forgotten about the Craig years....

Had the game on toast 15 minutes in to the second and then didn't give a yelp. That's fine as maybe it's a reality check that last week wasn't a "Once in a blue moon event". Soon see how good Pyke is as a coach. He is very well regarded by every one in the West so let's see how he responds.

What a load of crap. Melbourne out work you. Shit you could see there work rate to shut you down and win the ball.

Ribs worse than thought or reported?

He has been terrible the last 2 weeks since coming back.
He needs to hit the contest harder and at full speed.

Does he know he's 200cm and 100kg?

Pulled a heart muscle.

I recorded some footage of him from the other night and sent it to Morell, JJ was doing some kind of skip, it was hilarious.

Think it's time we find out about this much talked about depth they have at the Crows. Surely just wheeling out Grandpa Thompson isn't the answer

Greenwood and beech in for Menzel and Hampton imo

The SANFL split round has come at a bad time by the sounds of it

The media here.
2 weeks ago the Crows were flag favourites and had a stack of players pushing for selection from the SANFL side

I did, crowd have depth and that will be tested. If Jenkins is not right then dont play him. Few options to be tried. Beech is one for example.

I think you need to consider Thompson at the moment. Got muscled a bit in the middle.

Surely you play another kid. Thompson is finished, Crows need to move on from him

Watched a bit of SANFL in recent weeks and Thompson is done, Crows would go even worse with him in the team.

There was a lot of talk on here recently about viney being a bully and not finding the footy and it costing them the game in the last qtr.
It was great to see that unsociable footy work for Melbourne on the weekend and get one back.

I didn't subscribe to the notion "he's all talk", "he's a crab", "one dimensional" etc...
The bloke can clearly play & is a good fit for those around him.

I called out Hampton as a liability to a mate 3 weeks ago, he told me I was nuts.

he's not a liability, far from it. has pace and composure in traffic, and his skills are good.

Just too inconsistent at the moment. His good games are very good but doesnt find enough of the ball regularly.

A stint in the SANFL to regain form would be good.

Interesting to see what Adelaide do.

Can't bring Thompson in, he's paddling at SANFL level. Brad Crouch hasn't been overly convincing in his time back in the AFL side. Brodie Smith held to 4 I50's last week in Tassie and 0 on the weekend has had his run stifled. Adelaide have lost clearances 47-34 ( North ) and 49-38 ( Melbourne ).

The focused attack on Sloane is the most measurable. He's been targeted and not coped, he's too good to be held down for weeks on end but limit his output at the contest and Adelaide's outside mids have become spectators.

Just as telling is the defensive units of the opposition not being seduced into following Adelaides forwards up the ground. Jenkins, Cameron and Betts all back themselves one on one to beat their opponent in a foot race back to Adelaide's goal face. Doesn't work if that space is filled when the ball goes "over the back".

Over to Pyke.

Not sure we have the midfield speed to play any other game style to be honest.

Now that sides are pushing numbers back against us, we are turning it over kicking to contests we are outnumbered in our own forward 50, then sides are streaming out of defense leaving our mids in their wake cause they either are not quick enough to keep up, or need a serious attitude adjustment to chase.

To stem the bleeding, we need to get 1 on 1's in our forward 50. If that means matching up opposition loose players, and making it 7, 8, or 9 forwards, then so be it. Nick Dal Santo said at one point, Melb had 9 defenders! Can't leave it 9 on 6....

As for Sloane, I know this sounds like a bitch and moan but Vince was blocking him illegally in quite a few stoppages, none more so than when he collided with the ump. Having said that, Sloane (and the coaching staff) need a method to deal with it and I was extremely disappointed with the likes of Douglas, Crouches and all the other mids going through there for not putting a block on or exerting themselves physically early on Vince.

Even if Sloane is held, someone else needs to stand up for once. I cannot believe week in week out M.Crouch gets 30+ touches but I hardly notice he is out there.

Next few weeks are going to be interesting...
