I just read on fox footy that Sydney say they didnt know about his condition before they signed him to a 10 year deal? Surely they would have put him through more tests than most before getting him on such a long term contract? Buddy doesnt seem to me like the sort of person that would knowingly fleece them either to gain extra years.

Did Melbourne know about Mitch clarkes issues before signing him up?

I have no exposure to epilepsy in my personal life but my father recently had some health issues which caused him to have about 20 seizures in the past 2 months maybe more that I dont know about. He cant drive for 12 months, cant surf (which he loves still at 60) and he does Brazilian jui jitsu and martial arts - he cant do any of these things and I can tell you, he is depressed. If Buddy is dealing with the epilepsy and it is restricting him to do the things he loves then the two can be related IMO. I was more pointing out that I would have thought that if Buddy did know about the epilepsy he would have been bound to tell them and I think he would have had he did, the mental health is something that no-one can predict.

I though Melbourne may have contributed to Clarke's issues.

Surely there is a questionaire that the employee must fill out asking if you have any one of a number of medical conditions.

Boys had a red hot crack Saturday. We should have won, but bad kicking is bad footy!!!
Kennedy was amazing, 16 disposals in the 3rd and 39 all up. Tippett was good and so was Hannebery...
Reid out, things don't get any easier..

You needed score board pressure early. Had a heap of the ball. If you kicked straight early, who knows.

Also thought Tippett was good early in the ruck and then up forward but needs to convert those chances.

Kennedy and Hannebery were outstanding and Tippett played a lone hand almost as the ruckman and key forward. His last 6-8 weeks have been, perhaps, the best of his career, consistency wise.

He kicked 3.1, pretty good conversion rate...

SYDNEY Swans coach John Longmire says star forward Lance Franklin has been ruled out of football for the rest of 2015.

The three-time Coleman medallist took indefinite leave from the club last week to seek treatment for an ongoing mental health issue, and Longmire told media on Monday that Franklin would not be selected again this year.

"Lance won't be playing for the rest of the season. We're mindful of his mental health issue and it's something that needs to be addressed," Longmire said.

"That's his main priority, to get that right, so footy is not on the agenda for Lance for the rest of the season."
