If those blokes didn't have some kind of brain trauma from that I'd be staggered.
Blind Freddy could see it was significant impact.
And where Jones got hit is life-threatening.

Interesting watch this one.

Both Aliir Aliir and Lachie Jones have now been put in the concussion protocol and will miss this week v Geelong.

What’s the point, AFL would be paying it anyway ;)
O
Take away premiership points :)

The only decision the club could make really. Good to see the health of these lads put first.

A "please explain" from the AFL certainly indicates this is coming up

Surely at least one head has to roll over this (no pun intended). The club looks completely incompetent.

MW wrote:Interesting comments today that the AFL overruled AFC with Chelsea Randall and banned her playing the grand final from video footage after she was cleared of concussion by Adelaide. Precedent set, do AFL force Port to omit Aliir and Jones this week?

Good luck doing this leading up to the mens GF, imagine if Daicos or Cripps cops a head knock in the Prelim. The clubs would be fighting tooth and nail to clear them to play. Reckon Nick Riewoldt hypothetically said once, he'd take it to the supreme court if he was forced to sit out if he felt no ill effects from the previous week.

So Jones and Aliir both get a week for careless high contact on each other.

Was the first person I thought of after seeing Aliir x2 come bounding back on the field like Pepe Le Pew

As I said earlier they must have looked at the footage surely.
The person who has the final say is the doctor, after he's seen the footage and they do the concussion test.
Whether they are fit to go back on is a combination of both.
The doc doesn't look good in this instance.

I saw parts of the presser. If he made the call surely he goes.

How can he have any say in it.
When did he become a doctor?

May have over ruled the doc? Who knows.
Surely we get the full story

Just watched the presser.
Davies put it all on the doc, saying he made a judgement call on aliir and made a mistake.
Took him a while to answer a journos question about whether the doc would keep his job, and didn't look real confident in his answer.
He did say he'd be staying on but I'm not sure he will.
It's a pretty big error in my opinion.
