They clearly represent native Australian animals ..... nothing else in their name to tell us WHERE they belong or come from :D

On a more serious note, the absence of SOO is maybe one reason people start to adopt Crows and Power as 'South Australian' .. how else do we embrace State pride in football? Follow the SANFL State team?

The issue for the AFL is the last team admitted was Port and that was more than 10 years ago. A 16 team comp is a fairly comfortable number to manage but where do they go from here? They seem to be stuck despite having huge TV revenue (and perhaps because of this) in a rut which stops any further developmental plans. In the meantime their main competitor, rugby has added a NZ team to their format- The AFL is getting left behind worrying about Melbourne teams.
We used to be good :-(

If clubs don't represent States, and are therefore isolated clubs tied to themselves only, then there shouldn't be any resistance to relocation to a new State. Ties back in to the 'health of Vic football' debate nicely.

Or ..... are the Victorian-based clubs emotionally or otherwise tied to Victoria ???? :-k
