Port to wear black and white at footy Pk heritage rounds

Talk on the national game

Postby Mr66 » Sat May 19, 2007 1:54 pm

If Port aren't allowed to wear B&W,because of one club already wearing that combination,
then why are Geelong & Carlton allowed to wear Navy Blue & White?
If one person does it, it's insanity. If millions do it, it's religion.

[quote="Punk Rooster"]Not all Port Adelaide Magpies supports love Port Adelaide Power.

1) Wharf side crew
2) Mate of mine supports Essendon/PAM's

Yes, I know, only 2 examples, but I also don't know every Port supporter, so I say there'd be more.

myself, the cheif, half of the magpie cheer squad.
The problem with Barcelona is that I like fish and chips but they had to turn it into calamari and patatas

The splitting clubs, splitting history part is bull5hit.For those who are Port Adelaide, born and bred, the truth is we love both clubs/entities/teams with passion. For those of you outside this beloved circle,I understand the fact you have trouble getting your head around it.
When it comes to loving and supporting a club,it comes from the heart. No matter how many pieces of paper may be to the disadvantage of my argument.I know,if in the same situation you would all feel the same about the club you choose to barrack for.

Punky.Hypothetical.

If North had been through the same thing,do you think you would argue for your beliefs,as I do?

I am Port Adelaide born and breed are you saying because i dont go for the power that i am not a true port adelaide supporter? you tell everyone maybe you should get over yourself. The Magpies formed 1870 still play in the sanfl 36 flags, the power formed 1996 play in afl 1 flag. If you like some more proof there a new formed group (dont worry nothing special) called the brother hood, they have shirts printed that read like so.

PAFC

AFL Premierships (1)
2004

SANFL Premierships (34, record)

Champions of Australia (4, Record)
1890, 1910, 1913, 1914

PAMFC

SANFL Premierships (2)
1998, 1999

Guess what. The Group went to both the Magpies and Powers for approval from the club. Both clubs said they didn't approve as that was not correct they were told by both clubs it should read like so

PAFC

AFL Premierships (1)

PAMFC

SANFL Premierships (36, Record)

Champions of Australia (4, Record)

So if you choose not to accept the facts then you get over yourself

Does anyone actually care much what Port Adelaide do except its own supporters? I'll support them over the Melbourne teams because they are an Adelaide team, but that is the limit.

"dont let the teal f*#kwits or any other f*#kwit ever think otherwise"

Any debate we may,or may not have is futile when this is involved.

As for the born and bred bit and not loving Port Adelaide, draw your own conclusions.
If you want to go quickly, go alone.

If you want to go far, go together.

And indeed without Port Adelaide there would have been no Crows, and the SANFL would not have been under pressure to accept the AFL at all, and there may have been a national league with more even representation from all states. So, the Maggies treachery gives them a similar link to the Crows too!

Would you be less likely to support them if they wore the black and white prison bar colours?

I am like you.....enjoy waching them play...............but didn't like seeing Stewy Dew in that jumper.

Should the Power management be taking a more pragmatic view........create their own history and remove all barriers to their supporter base.

Well, as a Port supporter, I couldn't give two s***s about this tired old debate either.

Or about the possibly even more tired debate about wearing prison bars in the AFL Heritage Round.

Who is the 'real' Port Adelaide? Who gets to wear black and white? Who gives a flying f***?

Content to barrack for two Port Adelaide teams...

You have my deepest sympathy just as my brother-in-law does.

I accept that he sees my following Norwood and the Crows they same way - it's fine as long as no-one gets thin-skinned about the being kiddded!
