Collingwood's refusal to wear alternative guernseys

Talk on the national game

Postby the big bang » Sun Apr 15, 2007 8:38 pm

still, gotta love Eddie's reason of why collingwood shouldnt have to wear a clash jumper.....

"well, if the other 15 clubs in the AFL all have a clash jumper, then we don't need one, do we?"

Port's away teal strip looks terrible again today, even worse when it's wet

The Bulldogs looked good last night in their white outfit I thought

You think that looked good? :? I had to have a chuckle that they came up with that abomination of an outfit while trying to alter their guernsey as little as possible. They looked ridiculous.

Sounds like a guernsey they wore a few years ago.

Except they had the club logo in the middle of the three stripes.

Thing I find funny about this whole debate is...

The Collingwood guernsey, the one we all grew up with, looks much better than the current one.

Agreed. They say they will never change their guernsey but they have. The current one looks ordinary whereas the proper one you refer to looks a whole lot better.

The long-sleeve version looks particularly bad - the stripes don't even line up properly

No. Real football teams don't wear white.

Central Districts..didn't get serious until they ditched that horrible white jumper they used to wear.
Fremantle Dorkers...say no more. An Anchor an appropriate symbol.
Western Bulldogs..Cat fans love the Dogs as they have an even longer drought that us. They almost made Richmond look good on Friday.
Kangaroos..a feared combination that turned up at Cat Park (a happy hunting ground for the Roos) one day in white and went home 14 goal losers....strip changed!

Wearing White is a symbol of surrender.

Collingwood has only one strip.

Black & White.....

Same strip as always...

The only true Traditional Football Club......!

I applaud the decision....

Whoever brought up grand finals brought up a good point....

What happens when two teams whose guernseys 'clash' make the grand final?

I can't see the 'away' team wanting to wear its clash guernsey on the biggest day of the football year, in front of the biggest audience (live and tv) of the season.....will be very interesting what happens.
You're my only friend, and you don't even like me.
