Never heard of a chick called 'Skilled' syd, met a few that are skilled but not called that. Always thought that AAMI was kind of cute, no wonder you'd be 'lucky you're with AAMI'. Now I've typed that very slowly for you Syd, so you shouldn't have any trouble understanding it. Just pretend it was printed in the Carptiser and you'll be fine. Go the Eagles

ADELAIDE v WEST COAST
Saturday, 3:00pm ACST, AAMI Stadium

ADELAIDE
B: Johncock, Rutten, Bassett
HB: Mattner, Bock, Torney
C: Burton, Goodwin, van Berlo
HF: Thompson, Perrie, Reilly
F: Bode, Welsh, Biglands
FOLL: Clarke, Shirley, Edwards
I/C: Doughty, McLeod, Stevens, Porplyzia
EMG: Massie, McGregor, Douglas
IN: Burton, McLeod
OUT: Douglas, Massie

WEST COAST
B: B.Jones, Glass, Selwood
HB: Waters, Hunter, Stenglein
C: A.Embley, Cousins, Braun
HF: Chick, Hansen, Butler
F: Kerr, Lynch, Seaby
FOLL: Cox, Judd, Fletcher
I/C: Armstrong, Banfield, Graham, R.Jones
EMG: LeCras, Rosa, Staker
IN: Banfield, Graham
OUT: Wirrpanda (hamstring), Rosa

Observations

Same side as I picked earlier in the week, question, Roo is not named as an emergency, would the crows pick Roo last minute to unsettle the Eagles, if so is it worth $10k fine

Eagles selection, Rosa had 27 touches earlier in the year against Adelaide at AAMI, 27 touches against Richmond in round 22 and 25 touches last week so the kid is in form, instead they have selected Graham a kid at 195cm who has not set the world on fire, to me the Eagles are concerned about the crows forward structure, Perrie, Welsh and Bock demand 3 defenders that can play tall, Eagles have Glass, Hunter and now Graham, the Graham match up may leave them exposed down back and if the crows trio plays well and the Eagles struggle up forward Woosha wont be able to throw Hunter forward without being further exposed down back

This is a real advantage to the crows

Spose Macca and Birdman had to play, but they have replaced
2 runners in Douglas and Massie who could have rotated against
the all conquering Eagles midfield.
Hmn I can see the Crows flooding extensively to make it a slow
tempo game.
SD + TASSIE by saturday all 3 of us will be cheering the boys
for what would be an upset victory.

Burton and McLoed aren't runners?????

History will be the judge if the Crows have gambled, FWIW I think they are 2 good ins and I am quietly confident....

The Crows made the mistake of not defending enough in PERTH and got clobbered.

The crows are at their best when they attack quickly with structured running to space once a turnover has occured. Against West Coast and more importantly Sydney (if they get through) the Crows can not allow they game to become stop start when they have ball.

The run and carry of Burton and McLoed are crucial for this as they can break lines and Mcloed with his precision, along with Johncock and Goodwin and Reilly give the Crows the ability to hit targets running into to space or the leading forward.

Burtons aerobic power allows him to be an option in the midfield and then gut run to be an extra option in the forward line.

Having said that Stuey Cormack has the Eagles boys in prime condition and their run both ways against the dogs was impressive.....

Every now and then a game is played where one side is at it's elite best while the other is at is worse, and you just throw the video tape out the window, this particular game, I don't think the Eagles had played any better under woosha or the crows any worse under craigy, there can be a danger in reading too much in to those types of results

I rather look at last years Prelim, round 1 this year and last year to gauge what we have done well and what we have done not so well

We know the crows have a good defensive action when we don't have the footy, but when we are in possession we need to attack and move the ball quickly, we are here to win the game, not play for a penalty shoot out

No the crows made the mistake of getting smashed in the midfield, after the first week of the specific finals preparation phase. Can't defend when the ball coming down on the defenders like a Tsunami.

players are fitter, fresher this time, in the midfield it is going to come down to attitude, i.e which team wants it more

Some personal pride is on the line for our boys, they owe themselves and their teammates a RHG for 4 quarters this week.
