Word is he consistently over ruled the medical department, which came back to bit him in the arse. he was also trying to over rule the list management and recruiters decision regarding Mitch Clark and moving on Zac Clarke. I think, from all reports, he must be a stubborn prick that wants to control absolutely everything.

When the emotion gets out of the way with this one, i think youll find it will be a great move for all involved. Saints needed a change, ross did and so did the dockers. WIN WIN WIN

FFS

Not too sure why you are pissed off with this. Lyon's stagnant game plan has only taken the Saints so far. You still have a good side and hopefully you can now play with a bit more freedom.

REB

I love that people have this theory that lyons coaching/game plan is what has stopped the saint winning a flag, they drew the GF last year FFS. Surely in a game that is a draw (or even a close loss) it is really more luck than anything else as to exactly the moment the siren sounds, and who wins or loses or draws, not anything to do with a game plan. You're Reading far too much into it

So are you, they didn't win. Who is to say that if the players were given more freedom they wouldn't have won a flag? Again, you are reading too much into it.

REB

31 year old Hayes coming off a reco, 29 year old Riewoldt’s body collapsing (and still can’t kick), Koschitzke won’t get any smarter – they’re heading for rebuilding with a novice coach. In time, Dal Santo and Montagna will be their Luke Power and Simon Black - the only blokes left from a bygone powerful era.

He didnt involve his Management becuase he uses the same one as Harvey.

Amazing everyonw involved has been able to keep it quiet.

I was wondering how he got out of his Saints contract when he still had a year to run but apparently he has an out clause that can be activated by him in the off season, guess he did!

If thats the case then the Saints have dropped the ball here, should have signed him up or made a decision to go without him months ago...

I'd suggest all 18 clubs are relevant. You need to play them and beat them during the minor round to qualify for finals. Calling any club irrelevant is just arrogant*.

*Edit - My mistake,you are Carlton.... ;)

Well they did just win their first final in ten years after all............. Perhaps it is the top four teams that are irrelevant to Carlton as they didn't need to beat them to qualify for the finals ha ha.

I say well done Ross Lyon, i liked Grant Thomas's interview with Cornsey & Rowey, he said coaches at some stage get "boned" well St'Kilda has been boned aswell & Karma has prevailed.

This is what left me gobsmacked more than anything. There's people saying how unprofessional it all is, yet it comes across as the opposite in the fact that there were absolutely no rumblings or leaks about it weeks ago.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

When you look at the clubs "without a coach" & theirs a few seeking one yet you know your own coach has a get out clause in his contract for his final year why wouldn't you sign him up earlier to the 4 year deal he was looking for?
Pretty dumb if you ask me, or didn't St Kilda really want him?
St Kilda once again has acted very unprofessional.

Was interesting to read a story in the paper that Lyon apparently tried to get out of his St Kilda contract a couple of times previously - after the schoolgirl drama, and also what happened with a few players at a player camp in NZ.

The funny thing is that both parties kept agents out of this and what do you know there were no leaks to the media. This was all kept away from them. Amazing stuff really, but not really, we all know agents and managers do that sort of crap. Still its nice to be able to confirm where alot of leaks to the media come from.

Lyon might have started a movement. Get yourself a lawyer, pay them a once off fee to sort everything out and they're obviously able to keep a secret or at least forced to, because after the deal is done, you're not beholden to them any more.
It's all the SANFL's fault.
