I doubt it Tiger. A few games might be televised on fox and the final on FTA, but doubt the power game would be of much interest....

I think NAB Cup final is only game televised this weekend. Port game definitely isn't.

Some great signs last night... and some worrying old habits too...

Our 1st qtr and a half was first class, hard running, great skills. Then it was like they were told to play the defensive kick backwards game :(

Firstly, good to see Butcher not suspended.

Secondly, these highlights are worth a look, almost looking like a real footy side :) Although not sure about quality of the opposition.

http://www.portadelaidefc.com.au/

Highlights on right hand side, enlarging it on the screen, still reasonably clear.

- Gray looks like he's in for a big year, hope he stays injury free
- Young looks impressive
- Westhoff in backline might not be a bad option
- I was surprised by some of Thomas' highlights

I'm not expecting us to make the finals this season, however I am thinking there will be sigficant improvement. I don't like our fixture, we will have to sneak a few upsets in the first 6 rounds or it could yet be another long year.

Yes, disappointing that Trengove is out, but best to get his finger right so its doesn't become an even longer term injury.

Trengove is a big loss though, hopefully Chaplin can step up too.

I'm not by any means getting ahead of myself but the fact we already have 3 wins which is all we could manage last year and the fact we are giving kids a go and not wasting our time with the likes of Phillips and Hitchcock i think is a real positive.

Just hope we dont go back in to our old style of kicking sideways or even backwards we look a much better side taking the game on. High risk high reward! Yes at times playing that way if the excution is not right a turn over will cost a goal no doubt but saying this crowds will get to high 20k's playing that way as its an entertaining way to play and the fans can see us having a crack.

On Renouf i agree yet over the last month he is rated #1 for hit outs  I couldnt believe it.

The problem we have is ok replace Westoff fair call but WITH WHO??? I swear if we play Phillips or Hitchcock again I wont go to game ever again. I'm not a fan of Pfeiffer either but at least he has a crack

People bag Cassisi but like Pfeiffer he has a crack but his midfield days are behind him so can you have your capt. playing that Surjan role? I think not.

McCarthy needs to learn how to kick a drop punt, Chaplin can only play loose and how Carlilie was dropped before him staggers me as does the decision to have quite a few of the side in infront of Roden i just dont get it.

My parents sat behind the interchange bench on Sunday at the Bulldogs game and when I spoke with them afterwards they said they lost track of how many midfielders either going onto or coming off the bech were yelling at the interchange stewards "Who the f*** am I on" or "Where am I meant to be going?"

They also noted that Primus spoke to the group for only about 2 minutes of the 3/4 time break. During the remainder of that period the players broke into line groups and spoke amongst themselves while the coaches spoke away from the 3 groups.

Primus then held up the whiteboard for about 2 minutes, ranted a bit and they broke off to play the finals 1/4.

Hitchcock, Phillips, Salopek, Salter are all delists at the end of the year. No question.

Westhoff, Renouf, Chaplin, Carlile need to be sent back to SANFL level. Renouf might win the odd tap but he simply cant catch the ball either marking or receiving a hand ball.

Pfeiffer and McCarthy have been deplorable with their skills and decision making in the last 3 weeks. Pfieffer simply gets excited with the ball and fails to think through the play and McCarthy is just blazing away. How many times did he kick it yesterday 30+ metres from a Port player?

Moore is showing promise as expected by the coaching staff ( at Port and North Adelaide ) and blokes like D.Stewart, Butcher and Lobbe need to put their hand up soon or their chance to impress in 2012 will be gone.

Note how many of the blokes I have mentioned are our big blokes? Renouf, Westhoff, Chaplin, Carlile, D.Stewart, Lobbe, Butcher, Trengove and to some extent a tired looking Redden ( who I think it going to be ok ) have all been disappointing this year.

Positives? Schulz ( pre-injury ), Gray ( again ), Hartlett ( again ), Broadbent, P.Stewart, Brad Ebert have all been positives with Cornes back to playing the role he does best and Wingard looking a class act.

What of Jacobs, Pittard, Banner, OShae?

Thomas, Surjan and Logan must play simply to apply some body pressure on the opposition around the ball.

What does everyone think Boaky will do?

Good summary Boon. Hard to believe sometimes just how deplorable our skills are, both under pressure and in space. Surely our skills coaches have to take some accountability for that.

Im not sure about Boaky now......2 weeks ago i was confident he was staying, now im leaning towards the fact he is homeward bound....

couldnt agree more gb.
Cant do 2 good things together.
Takes a good mark then totally stuffs the kick up.
Body language is deplorable.
Sick of hearing how hard he works on the track etc etc.
FFS, i'd expect ALL the players to work hard.
Has played 101 games, is that not enough chances?
Without Shultz, the Power would be lucky to kick 5 goals.

Schulz, Harlett and Trengove for a month and Thomas for two. Who comes in?

D.Stewart for Schulz? Hasn't been great for North but deserves a few weeks in the key forward post to make his mark.

Carlile back in for Trengove? If Bob can lose some of his arse.
