I'm hoping that this project will force the improvement of the public transport system. It's going to be needed.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

Will the SANFL finals, including the Grand Final, be moved to Adelaide Oval once the stadium is up and running? Or will cricket need the Oval a bit sooner than that?

I guess it depends on Adelaide and Port having home finals. The smart thing to do would be to have SANFL finals at Adelaide Oval.

Now the only hitch is will any party agree to pick up the inevitable cost over runs.
The SA government has said it won't..

IMO i have always thought crowd numbers would be up, and a greater benefit of finishing higher on the ladder, would be to have the finals played at suburban grounds. 2nd hosts 3rd and 4th hosts 5th etc: and then have the Grand Final at Adelaide Oval which will be the new home of SA Football.
Imagine the bloods having a finals under lights at richmond? or the bays having a final down at Gliderol? Amazing atmospheres would come of it, and help bring SANFL back into the picture even more

Just before we all start to get happy and excited about this. The Hospital is about to show at least another million dollars in overspending (Whoops!). So where do you think that money is going to come from?

That's what I don't get. I can see it happening, but so many things won't get done properly that'll take the gloss of what should be a good thing.

Is there anywhere I can go to check out the infrastructure required for Adelaide Oval to succeed, such as Car Parks, Bus Terminal etc etc

The hospital won't require much funding.
So many people will die in ambulances trying to get too the worst possible location in Adelaide that surgeons will be a thing of the past!

I get howled down for voting no to this project  Any cost blowout is going to result in corner cutting and another typical Adelaide half-arsed job

Spoke to a mate of mine who voted no and attended the meeting, It was astounding how many times the pro Yes Speakers were banging on about the footbridge. You don't get that in your 500 million FFS!

I am really worried we wont be able to afford it. The hospital is surely number 1 priority so if that is a billion over budget the money has to cut from something else.
Hopefully the mining at woomera can start asap.

This is an example of the spin off's throughout Adelaide due to the oval re-development. Exciting times.
Imagine, the new bars of the casino overlooking the torrens and AO, as the crowds swarm in over the bridge after a friday or saturday night game. Will be awesome, it WILL change the whole dynamics of the city. Why wouldn't Sky city throw money at this, they are in a perfect position geographically and economically.

If we can get to anything like the Crown it will be AMAZING. Looking forward to sitting back, having a beer after a footy game overlooking the torrens
