1st Crows game I've been to since they pumped Essendon in 96.

How insipid was that from the 20 min mark of the 2nd qtr??

Craig doesn't need a mirror but many Cows players do. Knight, Jaensch and Martin for starters.

Players reaching in one handed, fumbling. Port players body behind the ball and one grabbing.

Thank goodness the tickets were free (apart from $5 for two kids tickets)

BAck to the SANFL for me, much better footy.

At least the Norwood and BAys players ahd a fair decent crack on friday night.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

I'm going to watch them in Melbourne next week, could be ugly, to go from 5 goals up to what they produced was just terrible, how crap also was the crowd?

Nah I'll be right with the Carlton gear thanks... I think they will pump the Crows if they don't change something, got higher hopes that the Tigers might knock off the Roos.

A general observation on the umpiring last night and umpiring in general. I always thought that if player has the ball, is tackled, disposes the ball correctly and is then slung or the tackle is then continued it was then deemed holding the man. Cornes' tackle on Johncock was a glaring example of this in either the 3rd or 4th quarter. I saw it numerous times in the game last night for both teams and in the WWT v Sturt game on Friday night. It doesn't seem that the AFL or umpires are concerned by it yet are willing to ping the slightest shirt tug which doesn't impede the player in the slightest.
I can't help but think that umpiring is increasingly focused on the minor, innocuous "interpretations" and blinded by the obvious.

Seriously I was at the game and I'd ask the crows this WTF? I guess the crows are soft because the power simply came out after 1/4 time and went hard at the ball.

I stated in this thread many times the crows should have easily accounted for the Power, and I stand by that fact because the crows are miles in front of the Power at the moment, well thats what I thought realistically. But know you really need to ask where both teams are at. Port made some bad skill errors all night, but still they were hard at the ball and showed some real heart and fight when it counted, so well done to the power on last night.

Still the crows need to have a good look at themselves and work out whats going on. Van Berlo, for god sakes put your head over the ball. Port and Freo have both beaten the crows by hitting the ball hard. Melbourne will do the same next week, you can be sure of that. Also Mark Riccuito, you are a tool. Simple as that.
Read my reply. It is directed at you because you have double standards

Port - no skill
Crows - no heart
Umpires - no common sense or sense of consistency.

This is what I'm struggling with as a supporter after last night. I've already said it, but to just bend over and take it up the date like that for 3 quarters without even a wimper, fair dinkum.

The morning after and this is the worst I've felt as a fan after a game for a long long time.

You can have as much skill and potential as you like, but if you haven't got the ticker then forget it. The only saving grace is that it's still early days and there's plenty of season left to turn things around.

On the positive side, I must say I like the look of McKernan. Unlike many of his teammates he actually has a look of determination and shows plenty for a bloke who's only played 5 games. I don't think he'll spend much time out of the firsts this year.

Great win last night. For once when the chips were down port decided to fight rather than wave the white flag. Matt thomas was superb last night, won plenty of contested possessions and went when it was his turn to go. Best game ive seen westhoff play since being at port and rodan was back to his usual best (for how long though!)

To come from 6 goals down and win by 5 is a great result, mainly as there is nothing better than beating adelaide.

Port only seem to come to play twice a year. The challenge for us now is to back up a performance like that. Christ if we follow last night up with a loss to the suns ill be livid.

Well done power! beautyyyyyy!!!

Get rid of Maric would be a good start too.

if all the Crows can do is handball and kick side ways on the rare occassion they have control of the footy, how do they expect to win a game.

i know this will upset a few Crows fans but where is Dangerfield 'at' at the moment. His best is amazing but really seems to struggle for consistency in both performance and the positions he is expected to play. I think he will come good but where is his developement at.

other players from the 2007 Draft include

-M. Kreuzer (1)
-T. Cotchin (2)
-C.Matsen (3)
-C.Rioli (12)
-J.Grimes (14)
-H.Taylor (17)
-S.Sellwood (20)
-C.Mayne (40)
-B.Daziell (52)

Perhaps expecting a little too much of him? Seems as though they expect him to be a strong, bullocking replacement for Ricciuto, but forget his body is still 1-2 years off its' prime in this regard. Based on last nights effort perhaps a few more of the older, stronger more experienced players could put, really put, their bodies in a bit more.

Crows proved they don't like continuous pressure, bunch of front runners.
I thought the young ones were coming on quickly, they fall away just as quick.
