GWS Season 2012

Talk on the national game

I would expect 2-3 players from the swans to be signed/traded. Jared Moore, Trent Dennis-Lane, Jesse White, Lewis Johnston could all be targets.

Went to the Thunder v Giants game last night. Met up with doggies4eva. Not a bad bloke for a Centrals supporter. ;)

Giants got smashed. Falou had a quiet game. Kicked 2 while being well held by Jason Roe. Giles will be handy for GWS until they can groom someone else. Jeremy Cameron was the Giants player who impressed me.

p.s. Such a shame the NT Thunder weren't added to the SANFL. Built themselves a very competitive team up here, and with the addition of a couple of big key position players and a ruckman, would hold there own in the SANFL. Thunder are way too good for the NEAFL comp.

Are there anymore names that are linked to the GWS, that people have heard of?
I know Ward would be finding it hard to not think at least think about the offer.

According to The Footy Show tonight, they've apparently signed 3 players (signed last year).

I'm guessing they'd come from this list..

Ward
Palmer
Walker
Scully

From a Port perspective, I hope D Motlop has signed there (he obviously isn't in the club's future plans so if Port got something like a 3rd rounder for him that would be a good result).

Palmer is not a spud IMO. Others are questionable. Palmer first year was outstanding, done his knee which made him miss a year and some people take a couple years to come back from it. I dont blame anyone for going to GCS or GWS for the money

Yeah asked to be traded last year back to perth. brisbane with salary cap issues. richmond have already come out and said mitch clark would be too expensive for them after speaking to his management. GWS bound IMO to form a ruck combo with Giles

Nah not a big enough name. Reckon they will lure a couple of big guns. Still hearing Bartels name mentioned but i thought he only recently signed extension.

I would. If they land Bartel, expect him to be the man.

Still If they could land, Ward, Cornes, Bartel, scully, Walker, Clarke and Palmer, it really does start to form a good core of senior players to go with the fact they have Giles in the ruck already. I understand that they are mostly still kids at the moment, expect for a few of course but still Scully and Ward and future stars and in a few years that squad will be peaking.

Tom Scully

Postby steakn » Sat Jul 16, 2011 9:26 pm

Just some food for thought.....Supposedly Scully has been offered a multiple million $ deal.
What happens if he delays the decision...then cops a significant injury. Would the offer stand? Would Melbourne try and offload him for high draft picks, or would GWS remove any offer.

The Judd situation ring any bells.
Maybe Kruezer is a manager of stuff at the same place Judd is a Stuff Ambassador?
