Cant believe this rabble was only one lucky bounce of the ball away from being the reigning premiers. Thought you haf to win the premiership to have a premiership hangover!!!!

STK don't have 'premiership hangovers' they have 'Ok-that's-enough-success-for-us-let's-go-back-to-being-hopeless-because-it's-less-stressful' routine.
If one person does it, it's insanity. If millions do it, it's religion.

Reckon the Saints need to bite the bullet, and see what value they can attract for some of their stars at the end of the season. Riewoldt, Montagna, Dal Santo, Goddard, Gilbert, Koschizke .. I would be seeing what they could get in return for each of them and moving on at least a couple.

Im not suggesting they move all of them on, but I think their opportunity for a flag has most likely now passed so they should have increased their "rebuild" rating priority at the club.

Sentiment in footy is nothing but an impediment these days IMHO.

Dal Santo and Montagna maybe. Even Vossy wouldn't grab Kosi now.

The problem lies more with players like Dawson, Baker, McQualter, Gwilt, Gram etc. Their 2nd tier players have dropped off from last year. Add to that Lenny Hayes's injury, and the fact they have played a hard grinding sort of game the last few years, it's all caught up with them.

reiwoldt, goddard, montagna, dal santo have all been way below there best this year. Fisher is the only one of their A graders who has performed to that standard IMO. They rely so heavily on these players.
THose players you mentioned are all lucky to be playing (except McQualter and Dawson IMO). Baker, gwilt and Gram, along with Blake should all be chucked out at the end of the year

I reckon those blokes have all been down for sure (although Gram been a bit better recently and on the flip side Dempster has been very good for them), but at the end of the day you can't have stars like Riewoldt, Goddard and Montagna not firing for so long.

Regardless, you wouldn't get much trade value for those 2-3rd tier blokes .. My point was more about moving on some players who could actually bring some quality players into the club.

They wont move Dal Santo on, and Montagna wouldnt get that much value. Kosi might simply because he is tall. Look at Hale, over trade we he turned into fricken Dean Cox for christ sakes!

They have plenty that they need to start looking at in regards to list management. Kosi probably should get moved on and like I said he will attract something. Gardener is obviously gone, you would have to question the value that your are now getting from Baker as well.
Need to make way for the young kids now, but of course keep players like Dal Santo, Goddard and St.Nick around to lead the way for the younger players.

Saints Achilles heel that has cost them flags is midfield speed. They don't have anyone with raw pace AND skill like the pies, dons, cats and blues have. Their delivery into the forward line is too slow which allows the defence to get back. Agree with some of the comments on who should be traded, but they need to start looking at kids with pace and stop recruiting blokes that have been dumped by other AFL clubs.
