At least Im only half disappointed, my team had a win even if my wallet did have a loss.

nah I said when I put the bet on I would be happy to lose it....very proud of the effort tonight, I wasnt expecting it...every team has injuries but the quality we had out tonight was extraordinary....at least 4 of our top 7-8 in the stands

Geelong still ooze class however there work when they dont have the ball would worry me....plenty of Roos loose which made things easier...

I'm a bit surprised you are saying that Dutchy. Your mate number 16 could have won the game for you if he could mark the ball. We were an absolute rabble when Scarlo went down and had Chapman, Ottens and Mooney severely underdone as well. Boomer Harvey is a legend and that was the best game I've ever seen Hale play but the Roos will never make a footballer out of Daniel Harris IMO.

Geelong haven't gone back to back for over 50 years, the Roos have never achieved this so you could hardly state that back to back flags are a regular feature of AFL/VFL history. We played crap. I admitted it. But we won so why would I need to make excuses? :?

If he is your number three midfielder then you are destined to remain mid-table. While you obviously see more of him than I do I can't recollect too many matches where he has dominated..some of the players who have hurt Geelong in particular for North include Leigh Harding and Andrew Swallow but I don't remember Harris cleaning us up. He burnt the ball a couple of times tonight when he was clear and he doesn't appear to have to much legspeed either. Sorry, don't rate him.

Not a bad season I suppose, but 3 clangers a game and a disposal effiecency of only 62 tonight (and 68 in the Sydney game) and he's only kicked four goals for the year.

According to Footywire Daniel Harris is not in the top hundred of disposals per game and is only ranked 40th in tackles so hardly a league leader there.

Another interesting Daniel Harris statistic is his comparision to second year midfielder Joel Selwood who you would agree is well down the pecking order at Catland.

Kicks
Selwood 10.3 > Harris 8.7
Disposals
Selwood 20.5 > Harris 18.4
Marks
Harris 4.8 > Selwood 4.2
Goals
Harris 04. > Selwood 0.3
Tackles
Harris 4.2> Selwood 3.2

Selwood is 20, Harris is 26. Harris has a (very) slight edge over Joel Selwood even though he has played 127 matches to 31. He should be kicking Selwood's arse. While Harris might not be kicking Selwood's arse at 26 I wouldn't mind betting that Selwood's numbers at age 26 will be a bit more substantial than both sets of numbers above.

No, you brought statistical analysis into the discussion and I responded in kind. If you are happy with a 127 game midfielder who has the output of a 20 year old then more power to you. Really though, I should have used the stats for our number three midfielder Joel Corey.

As for 'reserves' comment, now who is making excuses? Corey Jones hasn't gotten a kick since round two and Nathan Thompson is older than any player on Geelong's list. These options were adequetly covered by Laidley when he loaded up North's forward line with tall players. For the record Geelong had (for various reasons) Egan, Taylor and Hunt out of our back six and Scarlett only played a quarter last night. I'd suggest that in September most of these guys will probably be spectators - Varcoe, Lonergan, Prismall, Byrnes...and North Melbourne.

It was opportunity lost against a rattled Cats side last night so I'd be a bit more worried about your backyard, as you are a lot closer to the end of the lot than us.

10-1.
