Last year they lost to Essendon, Geelong, West Coast and Fremantle at home. 12 games at AAMI isn't an automatic 12 wins. You don't have to win 4 out of ten to make the finals, you need 12 wins. Where are they going to come from?

Perhaps you could enlighten us where they might come from by posting your ladder my good man.

ok here we go
Hawthorn
Geelong
Collingwood
West coast
Port adelaide
Fremantle
Adelaide
Sydney
St kilda
Western bulldogs
Carlton
Nth Melbourne
Brisbane lions
Essendon
Richmond
Melbourne

But i think it will be a very even season again with teams from top to 11th playing for a spot in the 8 upto around round 20

Very tough on the lions there Joker.

If Brown plays a whole season and their kids continue to imporve they will nearly scrape in the 8 IMO.

OK...right so that means the other 14 sides without Rutten ? I know Carlton haven't a hope in hell of holding him, unless Setanta goes off his Irish nut and smacks him a few and hopes Jonno loses the plot....

But Rutten does not play on him 22 weeks a year does he. The Brisbane midfield will improve again this year with the likes of Risca, Sherman and co improving again not to mention the addition of Travis Johnstone.

Don't forget also that Daniel Bradshaw will back for the Lions, lessening their dependence on JB.

You are aptly nicknamed "joker"! I'd expect Highthorn to be about on par with Freo and Adelaide. Otherwise, I think you are pretty right.

Geelong
West Coast
Collingwood
Port Adelaide
Hawthorne
Sydney
North Melb
St.Kilda

West Bulldogs
Fremantle
Brisbane
Adelaide
Carlton
Melbourne
Richmond
Essendon

My prediction is that from about north to Adel they will be in with a chance of getting in the 8. Should be very tight. I think adaides ruck and forward lines indicate that they will have a long year. Although there defence is good, they will win there share of games but not enought to get in the 8.

Thats a list youngest to oldest from an article a few weeks ago. Pointless stat IMO as all the way down to Geelong they average only 23 and they really are in the ideal position to give the flag a real shake for the next 3-4 years.

To get a gauge on how you are really going you have to look at the quality of those kids.

Wow - hows Adelaide 10 players moved on from last year and we still have a higher average list !!!

I thought that the Crows were last seasons oldest

Take Geelong out of the equation I reckon we are the 2nd best Vic team

You know that both St Kilda and Hawthorn both reside in the sunny state of Vicoria

I know it is early however IMO the Pies have some concerns

Their back line was thin in 2007, with no Clement in 2008 I can't see any evidence on how they have solved this issue

Leg speed is a concern thru the middle, their tuck set up is very ordinary, I admit, Fraser as a ruckman does not excite me

I have a quesrion mark over the depth of their leadership group

IMO will stuggle to match 2007

You are right but it is early and the Pies looked very flat last night. No real zip around the ground.

Yes I did, I gave it a bit more thought and research after my ladder, on 2007 form where we beat the Hawks 2 times inc a final....
