Anyone remember that he got most votes in the Browlow for Adelaide last year playing mostly off the wing!
But when Craigy put him on dangerous forwards in the last line he was poo, so don't play him there, bet ya Roos won't!
Just hope he doesn't carve us up.

Im lost ... Norwood being crap came about well after Craig's tenure ... I wasn't a fan of his coaching appointment at the time at the Parade, and still have doubt's over his ability, but don't see the relevance of that one Punky.

How much does it limit the options of an AFL coach when he already has line through a player for several positions he's unable to fill ... It's all about versatility these days and you've just highlighted an area where Marty falls down.

As much as he he is a nice bloke..... He simply cant coach...ask Macca and Aishy at Norwood..... Mattner wasnt given a fair go..... all I can say is Nice guys dont win premierships... just ask the Gowans boys.....
To be honest Craigy should have been sacked after the first final.
I hate to say it but Choco makes Craigy look second rate....... He has clearly lost the respect of the playing group....

Sorry but for AFC to move forward......Craigy has to go!... he is another G . Ayres

Like I said, I have my own doubts, but at the end of the day Craigy would have exceeded all initial expectations at West Lakes and should be given at least another season IMHO to see if he can sway the jury one way or another.

Back to Marty ... Sad to see him go, but hey that's football, let's hope the deal can be made in such a manner that it's of benefit to the clubs and players involved.

He actually left Norwood in a pretty good state ... Developed a good young squad which produced the likes of the James boys, Scotty Burns, the Bassett boys etc and Norwood were regular finalists for about 6 years after he left, including a premiership ... Sadly Norwood's problems have all arisen from poor management/decision making at board level. :(

Don't know that I agree with this post...

Neil Craig has done more than was expected with the players at his disposal, particularly in 05 and 06. Having said this, I'm pissed off at what's he's done regarding Mattner and reckon he's got to lose his stubborn side and become a more adaptable coach if he's to move the Crows any further. As I said in my previous post, I can't see the Crows making the finals next year particularly given the departure of Hudson. A Biglands, Maric ruck duo is a scary thought...

Yeah mate I think there were a few that weren't wrapped with his appointment at Norwood, like I said I was one of those at the time, but credit where it's due, he left us pretty healthy for Rohdey to step in to the role.

Yep would agree with that. Craig inherited a team with numerous retirements and losses to the AFL. Even if Balme has stayed it would have been a struggle to make the finals for a couple of years. Norwood made the '93 final from the EF and from then on had a longish run in the finals (with Rohde).

I'm not saying Craig is brilliant coach, but he is far from a bad one.
To take the next step he needs to somehow swallow some pride and get rid of the match day stubbornness that been a constant criticism.

You think a guy with 79 games over 6 seasons, aged 26, is worth a first rounder?

quite possibly Neil Craig has something to do with Mattner wanting to leave.
and Hudson.
and Perrie.
and Meesen.
and McGregor (who has since reversed his decision).
and talk of others being unhappy...
