Sherman got 4 weeks in 2011.
Since then we have had Eddie McGuire make unacceptable comments about Goodes on radio, Goodes booed by portion of the population, a Port supporter throw a banana at Eddie Betts and alleged insensitive behaviour on the Crows camp.
They are just the ones I can think of off the top of my head.
6 weeks is unders.

No chance 3 weeks now which gives him a large rest and early start on preseason next year probably extends his career

Stiff punishment which he deserves 100%
Stiff???
What would happen if you did this in your workplace
You get outraged and argumentative just for the sake of it, your constant whining about what Adelaide does/doesn’t do is boring. I normally don’t respond to your rhetoric but as you quoted me I thought I would.
I wouldn’t get sacked but then again I wouldn’t say it. Would your employment fine you $20,000 on top of the other penalties?

Tex has never been the sharpest tool in the shed and he has really f******d up here.
I wouldn't think any punishment will outweigh the disappointment he'd have on himself, the feeling of how he has let so many followers down, the media contracts that he just won't get now or any sponsorship opportunities that have now closed.
6 weeks, 10 weeks, a huge fine, it's all irrelevant.
It's a disappointing day for footy, as much as I'm a Port supporter I have enjoyed listening to Tex and what he has done for the game, now he will be remembered for something negative, and rightly so, this wasn't a minor slip of the tongue.

This is 100% on Tex. Like someone said, they sit through educational programs every year on this...and he failed.
Absolutely
What pisses me off is they scream to the rooftop football is their job and they want the same rights as normal employees would get…..fair enough
But when shit goes wrong they have this higher standing that lets them fall under some ‘it’s a sport incident’ level of punishment
There absolutely getting their cake and eating it to
Tbh in general I’m getting real sick and tired of Professional sports people. Thinking Aussie cricket team as well

I actually don’t think Adelaide did anything wrong
No I wouldn’t get fined $20k, I would lose my job so a lot more than $20k and I can tell you now the next job I walked into next year/season wouldn’t be at the same pay rate I’m on now. My reputation would be tarnished working in the community sector so I would be struggling to be employable in my field of expertise
I’ll add IF you said it at a game do you think your only going to be banned for 6 weeks. If not why do you think you would deserve a bigger suspension than Tex gets.
Btw the crows in some shape or another keep finding themselves in situations they can be criticised so it’s more of a your club issue than it is of football people being critical. Whilst this wasn’t a crows issue as such it’s now twice their name is attached to racism issues maybe you should be more critical about your club rather than the people who are being critical

He got off lightly!
I hope Triple M sack him and take a stand here.

In comparison a Richmond fan was banned by the AFL in 2019 for two years for an online racial comment
I guess you can buy your way out of a suspension can’t you

The real blame goes to the Adelaide Football Club who put themselves, the club, players, staff into this predicament by forcing their way into the SANFL competition.

I don’t know what would happen if I did it but I doubt I’d been put in front of 23 million people knowing I’d made a racial slur, fined, lose media commitments etc.
Again what he said was 100% wrong, I am not justifying him or his actions just I think the penalty is harsh but what he deserves

How can it be harsh and what he deserves?
Surely it’s one or the other?
He got off lightly IMO

Respect your views normally, but this is way off the mark.
Tex is not a nobody like us, is one of the most known people in this State, on over $1 million a year with all his media, sponsorships, etc.
It deserves to be front page for 23 million to see, that's the penalty, more than 6 games and $20k donation!!

The ones caught live on TV? It gave the media all the footage it needed.

No matter what you earn shouldn’t factor in what the fines are.
We all pay the same for speeding, not registering a dog, illegal parking. People’s wages are not factored in.

Agree but what you pay as a fine shouldn’t deter the suspension which appears to be evident in the AFL’s punishment system
Richmond fan banned for 2 years with no fine
Tex who has the ability to pay a large fine pays his way out of the same length of suspension. Example being you shouldnt be able to pay your way out of losing demerit points should you, let me pay triple the speeding but fine but don’t take my demerit points
Having money talks hey

So who are you actually blaming then or your anger at?
Walker because can afford the fine or the AFL for their punishment given out?
