I dunno, it was no where near the ball, hit a player unawares, yeah the damage was caused by an accidental head clash but it for going for a guy off the play he should still of got a week. The panel on fox footy thought the same, except Ralph who thought 4, as the tribunal would of rated it.

Yeah when it's necessary, 10 metres off the ball when it's out of bounds is hardly necessary. Just my opinion, didn't bother me if he got done or not we still won the game.

But the match review panel today ruled the clash of heads was accidental and Thomas is free to play next weekend.

The panel ruled that despite making contact several metres off the ball, Thomas did not leave the ground and made contact to Reid's body with his shoulder and body.

The clash of heads which injured Reid was deemed to be "caused by circumstances outside the control of the player, which couldn't be reasonably foreseen."

I think that's a common sense ruling, although Thomas can still consider himself lucky if for no other reason than how much the tribunal has frowned on similar in the past.

Don't ever want to see players miss games unless it's a clear cut offence, so good result.

He was always a pretty useful player, even in the SANFL where a higher standard is required.
