Booney wrote:The best part for Port is Renouf, Logan, Cassisi,Thomas, Gray, Butcher, *ahem* Hitchcock, played SANFL and Brett Ebert is to return. We haven't had that for a long, long time.

How many of them would push for selection this week?
Wouldnt think you will make too many changes.
Cant see Renouf or Pfeiff getting a game too often barring injury

Port were pretty impressive Booney, and looked for the first time in a long time, to have some clear direction in how they wanted to play .. And it was effective and good to watch. Now that they have injected a batch of younger players with actual skill, they should have to rely on raw emotion no more - Something I always saw as part of their undoing.

I know they were only playing the Melbourne witches hats and (imho) won't play finals - But it was confirmation that they are heading in a much more positive direction than they have been for a number of years.

Jim, Gray for sure and Ebert and Butcher would all make claims I think. Feel for Dom, he might really struggle to break into the side.

Well done to Port Power today. Nothing like a Redlegs/Geelong take over to turn this rabble into a functioning unit.

The Power looked like they wanted to be out there and were prepared to work. For some strange reason for the second straight year Melbourne were not. For the second straight year a guy in his first game has been the most impressive player for Melbourne. How they managed to backwards from zero last year is astonishing. Little wonder the Melbourne fans howled their team off at Lemon time. It was well deserved.

Really looking forward to Port v GWS next week both teams will have a real crack.

Gray and Ebert for sure, would be hard dropping someone from today, not many passengers.
From what I saw of Butcher he is a long way off, his chasing and second efforts were non existant, got towelled up by an opponent 6 inches shorter. Would think he would need 2 or 3 decent games with the Maggies. Also reckon Schulz looks better when Butcher isnt there

Should be a good game between Port and GWS.
GWS had a good hitout against a very physical side, Port had a 2 hour training run, only differance is the wizard hats would have put on more pressure than Melbourne.
Dont think Port would want to underestimate GWS, already hearing some media declare that they will be 2-0 by time they face the Cows

I think Ports fitness will get them over the line. GWS will apply more pressure than the Dees though. Hopefully Port don't get too far ahead of themselves and can get off to a great start. I like them better than the cheats across the other side of town.

They were ordinary but he was sooking about Buckley.
Apparantly Buckley said that Thomas's hit on Reid was off the ball and pretty average. He also said that match officials will look into it. Scott was angry that Buckley was speaking out about it and said it should be left up to officials.

4/8 for me - disgraceful. Tipped the Hawks this week, had a dream two months ago that they would win.
