Yep, very handy. Especially when the players he will be replacing don't have anywhere near that output.

His peak season (2015) he averaged 1.3 - 3.4 - 22

Jake Neade, for comparison, goes at 0.8 - 3.5 - 11

Charlie "The next Andrew McLeod" Cameron who is worth a first round pick, goes at 1.1 - 2.7 - 12

How about this season? Maybe take the last two games off for a comparison?

You want to take off finals performances when analysing a players worth? Why? I mean other that to suit your argument of course.

Motlop, wingard and gray are all brilliant at getting the footy but not so good at the pressure acts. Boak isn't bad at forward line pressure but he's pretty slow and easy to get away from.
Maybe Ken's been reading my posts and has realised kicking goals wins footballs games. Wingard is actually pretty good at it, as is Marshall for a big guy. Sam Gray will still be getting a game to play that exact role too.

Dixon, Wingard, Sam Gray, Marshall ought to be able to provide enough pressure IMO. Afterall, it's a mindset, not really a skill.

Its a valid concern, though.

You mean like throwing out a random 20 and 2 stat so people think that it is 20 disposals and 2 goals a game?

He played for his life the last two games knowing he needed to step up to get a new contract. Now with 4 years back to comfort zone

This season he averaged 0.95, 2.56, 19.3 including his 2 good finals. Look at the teams he played well against to boost his numbers

No point comparing Cameron he won’t be our player anymore. Maybe Betts might be a better comparison but that might skew your argument ;)

Betts plays a very different role to Motlop. C'mon man. Be sensible. Motlop would spend a huge % of game time in the midfield.

He had a bad year this year and even at that level is *still* a significant upgrade on what we've got.

And 20/2 isn't a random stat. It's a reasonably widely used metric for that role.

You included Neade and Cameron who don't go through the midfield.

Shots at goal stat is one of least used stats I can think of.

Fair point, but all play much higher up the ground than Betts.

I cannot see what all the hype is about with Port's trading so far and why all "AFL MEDIA" think they have excelled.

1. They brought in a bloke from Brisbane who was a cancer at that football club, who wanted out at any opportunity that is not going to change when things don't go his way at Alberton.

2. They have brought in another bloke who continually butchers the ball
(He would be right at home with the rest of the low skill players at Alberton who can't get the job done)
Has only played two good games in 2 years and folds most of the time under pressure.

3. Looking at a third bloke who is so overrated as a player and goes missing on the field more often than not.

No one else could possibly get close. One and a half games off top this year, surely the minor premiership is now a fait accompli and then its just that 3-4 year waiting period for a prelim win.

Cmon mate if you're looking for a circle jerk revisit the Crows thread from 3 or 4 weeks ago. Some handy inclusions but that's all.

Surely you could realise though how pressure is a very easy way to lead to kicking goals

TBH forward line pressure would be easier to scout, coach, train that it would be to try and find blokes that will move the footy Coast to coast or the perfect tap down to on running midfielder to the leading forward etc

I do, but i think we have enough pressure forwards both in the team and on the list in general.

I cannot fault the off field season we're having... Impey leaving was a slight downer but couldn't be helped. Provided we dont give up anything or overpay for Watts!

While your post was an attempted troll, this is a very valid point and something that has never been addressed under the Hinkley era.
